Should you buy gold?
I take a moment to explain why you probably shouldn't.
Even if gold has shot up 450% from August 2025 to January 2026, it's probably too late.
Can the War in Iran delay your retirement?
If the #War in #Iran is making you worried about your nest egg then it's probably too late to do anything!
Also, it might be a sign of other problems that go beyond your investment accounts.

If you ever have any personal finance questions on this topic, please email or DM me.
And it'll be featured in my column!
If you're in QC and speak French, I recommend the book, "L'Amour et l'argent"
There's an English version coming in the future according to the author. Not sure when, though.
It's a data-driven analysis of couples' spending dynamics and strategies. I use it to work with my clients.
As the author of this piece... 100% agree.
Oh wow! I didn't they posted it BlueSky!
Thanks π₯°

If youβre planning for retirement, you might be tempted by income funds promising high monthly payouts.
Many DIY investors swear by them. I dug in deep to learn if income funds are the right tool for retirement planning.

How does this apply to providing financial advice?
zurl.co/b7RIk
As a financial advisor, I think it is my responsibility to help clients navigate our difficult world and to help make financial decisions that respect their values, their needs, and vision of a happy life.
Weβre all trying to navigate this world and by having clear communication as spouses, parents, colleagues, managers and as individuals ; we can reduce the frictions that come with building a better society for everyone.
And this is a legacy of PATRIARCHY, a system that has existed for milennia and that makes it difficult for us to decouple our definitions of success, happiness, leadership, etc from our genders.
There's even a phenomenon called the GLASS ESCALATOR : men climb the career ladder faster than women in Women-dominated industries.
And to varying degrees depending on your society, Capitalism will often exacerbate these unequal results.
Inequality is a FEATURE, not a bug.
While Feminism has opened the doors for many women to access careers and positions of leadership traditionally held by men, there are still unequal results when it comes to who gets promoted and how much do they get paid.
I BELIEVE that much of this misplaced resentment is due to the fact that we live in a society where by definition, NOBODY CAN HAVE IT ALL: Capitalism.
CAPITALISM is a system that ensures some level of inequality. Someone has to win and someone has to lose.
But freedom does come with a price:Β
When women entered the workforce in large numbers, the happiness levels of women dropped. They have since largely recovered.
...do the same thing as men.
= Modern womanβ’
What Feminism has actually done is that it ALLOWS women to have the freedom to choose what THEY WANT in life.
But Feminism NEVER made that promise.
In some conversations Iβve had with women who echo this sentiment, they FEEL that Feminism meansβ¦
1οΈβ£ Women MUST have a career β
2οΈβ£ Women MUST be AMAZING parents β
3οΈβ£ Women MUST be 100% able to...
βLetβs be honest, I think Feminism has FAILED.β
Iβve heard multiple women say this in conversations at cafΓ©s, at the university, even at weddings.π
Much of the reasoning behind making such a hyperbolic statement is driven by a resentment that βWOMEN CANβT HAVE IT ALL.β
3οΈβ£ Always be closing. This is what I said to my surgeon when I woke up and saw the wound he stitched up after surgery.Β

Very few of advisors ever really provide any advice. Just product sales. And even when the client needed a product--a mortgage--they simply declined to even look into the financials, which would have revealed information that could ultimately help the client.
3οΈβ£The "advisor" relationship this client had was with an insurance agent, which had recommended a Critical illness policy--to someone who does not really need it. Never did they ask about the client's total financial picture. π
