One of Lenny’s last recordings I think. He was actually breaking some new ground before he died! 😔
It’s not everyone that can appreciate the playing over the recording quality. My favorite conductor is Furtwangler 😆

Yes - a favorite album ! I just recently added Besame Mucho - as a waltz 😁- to my gig book for next week! A fun different way to play it.

A great album. But as time has gone by, I prefer some of his later solo albums like this - more seasoned, and much better recorded! (On virtuoso the amp broke down)
Dave I get all your comments - except this one. Remember- most of the “American Songbook” standards in the 50’s WERE pop tunes - Miles etc, “doing covers of pop tunes”!
Nothing new about that - Miles and his alumni were already doing it for 60 years! But nothing wrong with giving us a periodic reminder ❤️
It’s a GREAT album. I like Art but a prime example of Miles 56 Rhythm section stretching out w no boss! And some different tunes! Listened to this countless times!
