i was just gonna pass this off as a silly little over examination but then the grok bit happened and i nearly fell out of my chair laughing

Playing RE Requiem and groaning at how Capcom still has an obsession with walking bits in games
for the love of God at least make them skippable in later playthroughs
bringing this back apropos of nothing at all
honestly I doubt PC was eating into their console sales much, but I bet they're looking at this and going "this is why our PS5 sales are so weak"
anything to avoid acknowledging their games aren't worth the price hike
The grandson of the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups creator has launched a campaign against The Hershey Company, which owns the Reese's brand. He wants them to stop skimping on ingredients. n.pr/3N2lYUx
This bit in the From Russia With Love game made me laugh out loud. You've got a fairly grounded, low key fight based on the one in the movie, then the most video game looking fucker of all time slides into frame.

ALEX ALCHEMY'S CHARITY THING 8 STARTS NOW!
Join me for the Opening Ceremony, as we play a bunch of random shit to kill 5 hours before brackets begin!
Kicking myself because I have to have a job and a life so I couldn't participate today, but later in the week though.....
As much as I hate the cultural hegemony of the US and would love to shit on it for that alone, it's a take that's as bad as "Dragon Quest is not important."
Yeah the only argument I can remotely see here is "It was mainly localized to the US" (never mind that outside of SE Asia the series is still fucking massive) and if that's the benchmark there's a whole lot of things that "aren't culturally relevant."
I've said it a few times now but I'm still certain if it weren't for CERO they absolutely would release the newer games in Japan; I still wonder how the JP MKDA would've been like since that was shortly before CERO's existence but still when they became stricter with blood/gore in games there.
The default argument some use is "Japan doesn't care"
Sure it's not huge but it's known enough for a cult following plus X was a big seller on Amazon Japan and that one Deception tournament with the blind player, it probably would be bigger if it wasn't for bad business decisions and irl tragedy
"Nazis were just regular people" is not a statement meant to evoke empathy or to excuse their crimes. It is a statement of warning.
The capacity to be part of and perpetrate atrocities is not limited to "monsters," it is wholly human. It is what we must always be aware of.
The guy who ran on bringing prices down is putting an arbitrary 15% price hike on countless products we cannot make in the US lmao
"what about the Lollipop Chainsaw remaster"
Heard too many horror stories about it so nah. Couldn't even be bothered to try and get Suda and Gunn to help with it either which doesn't help it's case
Alright done with Romeo Is A Deadman
Won't say much because ya know spoilers but I really enjoyed it. Now that's done time to play the Shadows Of The Damned remaster (ironically I think RIAD could have fit nicely with the games released that era)
i keep telling people
or trying to
it's not as bad as you think because the administration WILL back down if you make it completely untenable or too hard a fight
"When I went to East of Eden when I was seventeen, it made me cry and get pissed off and realize what a fucking mess my life was and what I wanted to do with my life. It reminded me of who I am." βTom Noonan

RIP Tom Noonan, a friend for 18 years. Often typecast as villains, he was an actor's actor, a unique playwright & filmmaker, a gifted composer, and a pianist with a sweet voice. My kids & I used to go to his tiny apartment for dinner (pizza). We'd have a few drinks & he'd start to play. Magic.
It won by basically being the closest digital equivalent to browsing an old 80s/90s era video store, compared to everything else and their sterile UIs and original content
Chen and Tewi sitting inside a bus with Tewi in the background snickering and large red text saying *RANDOM KID* pointing at Chen this is in reference to a screenshot from clips of iShowSpeed where he encounters a random kid on the bus

Romeo's voice in Is A Deadman kept making me wonder where I heard it before and it's because his VA is also Injustice 2 Blue Beetle
The plan is to get food after work and just friggin' start.
Might be earlier than 7 :) I think we're also gonna be doing a movie night with the pals after.
