The American car manufacturers lost a lot of market share after the 70s oil shock.
Perhaps we'll see a massive uptick in EVs as a result of Ukraine and Iran

Perhaps you've seen it already as you mention him in episodes often,👍
Reminds me of your recent episodes on battery testing
Now a ten year old car that's done 200k miles being at 82% with an early battery chemistry is fine.
Having a misleading BMS read out of SOH though is not.
An unwitting consumer my buy it on the basis of a BMS 98% capacity and be very disappointed it's actually 82%
In this example he compares the gap between the two methods in this 200k mile original IONIQ 29kwh.
The range test reads 82% of OG capacity vs the BMS still reading at 98%.
No buffer could explain this discrepancy.
Sadly warranty repairs will be done on a BMS read figure only.

I found this interesting @evmusings.bsky.social
Bjorn compares battery SOH by doing a range test from 100% to near 0% and calculating energy drained vs original nominal capacity.
He then reads the SOH via the BMS on an OBD dongle.
They bought Japanese cars with better fuel economy
FYI the 1970s oil crisis was the impetus for Copenhagen turning into a cycling city
Definitely a speech marks all the time

Or what constitutes a significant error that VAR will intervene on, odd judgements by human refs on VAR eg. Liverpool disallowed goal with robbo not interfering with play
But VAR gets things wrong all the time...
Especially given our beloved Elizabeth the second chose to marry a racist and raised a paedophile
Who wouldn't want her eldest son as a monarch?
So a quick boot camp isn't going to cut it? Shame.
Conscription to GB energy and training for substation construction mandatory for everyone unemployed under 30 😉

More exposed to gas prices than most
See how Spain's renewables investment has paid off
Nationally approve every solar farm centrally if they can show ability to break ground straight away
Difficult drilling for lower amounts of oil/gas?
Sounds like @edmilibandmp.bsky.social needs a new SPAD
PHEVs would be okay if anyone ever plugged them in
What's the biggest problem? Gas demand or oil demand?
Which has seen the highest increase?
Free bus passes is instant demand reduction of oil I guess, instantly solves a household expense that's increased
Or free push bikes?
The core question is whether the energy system in the 2030s and 2040s still requires additional #nuclear megaprojects built on decade long timelines when wind, solar, and storage technologies continue expanding on much shorter deployment cycles.

Neighbour was using an electric pressure washer on their Yard today
It was incredibly loud so I wouldn't necessarily agree
Either way, eek it out slowly or use it all at once...... BP ,Shell and Equinor aren't going to sell it to us at cost price or mates rates
They are going to price gouge us as much as possible at whatever they could possibly charge us so it's rather irrelevant
Because we couldn't scale the production to meet our needs.
If you do scale production, your reserves drain more quickly.

Not sure how much off your bills you'd expect to put up with this 👇
Got oil heating? Get a heat pump
cleanenergy.campaign.gov.uk/heat-pump/
Or free bus or tube passes?
Demand reduction subsidies in this case being EV grants or solar grants or insulation/ heat pumps?
