“I can’t complain but sometimes I still do.”
Okay, now I know what I want for lunch.
That’s why I’m so big on estate sales: great quality stuff bought a long time ago by rich people, now being sold at rock-bottom prices.
Blonde woman singing into a microphone wearing a fabulous faux alligator jacket and raising one fist in the air, flanked by older men playing guitar, bass and drums.
Found a pic!
I have (had?) a long jacket made from a shiny, green alligator-textured fabric. I used to wear it onstage when I sang with various rock cover bands. It undoubtedly wouldn’t fit me anymore, but it served its purpose well for many years.
Drop something red.
I think you’ve won the challenge with this thread.
A painting of Voltaire
Happy #WorldBookDay2026. The French writer and philosopher Voltaire once said 'Let us read, and let us dance; these two amusements will never do any harm to the world.' 📚
He also drank up to 50 cups of coffee a day, often mixed with chocolate.
I think we're onboard with this.
Longshoreman on my dad’s side. Corporate attorney on my mom’s side.
My 95-year-old dad is the same way about his own weight and is also horribly judgy about other people’s weight. 😑
Brown and tan chihuahua stretched out on a grey comforter with a pattern of birds and red flowers.
I’m sick and my nurse dog is staying close.
A screenshot of an email from an ad agency to Evil Hat Marketing: Hey Evil Hat team, Promised this is the last time you’ll hear from me. We are wrapping up generating content on the house. The AI studio is starting to get fully booked with our paying clients, and I have strict orders to stop promoting this come the weekend. I figured Evil Hat might as well get some work out of us at no cost while you can. Want in before we close it up? Best, [redacted] And then our reply: Hi [redacted], We will never use AI for our games or for our marketing. It's toxic to our customer audience and it's an ethical violation of the hard work put in by the human artists we hire to illustrate our books and the human writers who design our games. In short, it's not "free work" it's theft. Feel free to take me off your mailing list. Hope you turn around your business model because frankly, your current approach sucks shit. -Tom
sometimes you have to be clear about your values
Post a pic you took, no context, to bring some Zen to the feed.
Came across the phrase "cognitive DDOS" to describe our present culture.
Understood instantly what it meant.
This makes me furious.
I got new garage doors through Costco and they came with more than $400 in gift card credit to offset the cost.

Oh no!
Fascinating!
I didn’t even hear about that one when it came out. I’m currently on a long library wait list for it.
A brown tabby with a pink nose nestles on top of some blankets with his eyes closed.
Dr. Jones being handsome at you. #caturday

They also have a couple of good coffee shops. ☕️
A man standing at a chaotic workbench at Moon Marble Company in Bonner Springs, Kansas, making a marble from red Murano glass rods. A sign at the front of the bench reads: There will be a $5.00 charge for whining.
If you need to get out of your own head, I recommend going to see a guy demonstrating how to make glass marbles.
Batman & Robin, which I have always described as “two hours of my life I’ll never get back.” I would have walked out if that had been an option.
Symptoms of middle-age I'd not have anticipated in my 20s:
1. Going off (a huge amount of) classic rock.
2. Finding it even harder to cope when confronted with the suffering of animals.
3. Thinking of 9pm as a totally reasonable bedtime.
4. Still wanting to climb trees & explore abandoned buildings.
Did you know that because roly polies are terrestrial crustaceans and not actual bugs they breathe through adapted gills even though they live out of water.
Invite me! I live in Mission and I’ll always spring for a fancy martini.
It’s rough this year.
All of this.
