Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "Artist Nada @nada_rajab8431 who creates with children via Art from the Rubble in Gaza reached out and offered these illustrations inspired by photos of children she knows and children’s rights. Thank you @nada_rajab8431 for creating them and sharing them here at @rightsofeverychild. From her: “New artworks under the title ‘Rights Erased in Gaza Since the Onset of the Genocide.’ The right to life is the most sacred of all human rights, and the right to survive is an inalienable duty that must never be stripped away. In Gaza today, this right is being tested in its harshest form, as people are deprived of the most basic guarantees of safety, and families are torn apart under the weight of genocide. Preserving family unity is not merely a social demand; it is a protection of the very essence of human existence. Human rights organizations have documented that the number of sole survivors—individuals who are the only remaining members of their families—has risen to more than 20,000. These survivors have lost their entire families, remaining as living witnesses to their disappearance. As for the right to psychological and physical safety (depicted in the second image), it is not a privilege but a fundamental condition of a dignified life. In Gaza, children have endured trauma beyond their capacity to bear, to the extent that hair loss and loss of speech have become daily manifestations of an unending shock. Finally, there is the right to safe education in a stable, conflict-free environment. Thank you. “" 1 likes, 0 comments - rightsofeverychild on February 28, 2026: "Artist Nada @nada_rajab8431 who creates with children via Art from the Rubble in Gaza reached out and offered these illustrations inspired by photos of children she knows and children’s rights. Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "We distilled Article 13 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) to: “Every child has a right to self expression.” In full, it’s “The child shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of the child’s choice.” We especially like that last part “child’s choice.”" 2 likes, 0 comments - rightsofeverychild on February 26, 2026: "We distilled Article 13 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) to: “Every child has a right to self expression.” In full, it’s “The child shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of the child’s choice.” We especially like that last part “child’s choice.”".

Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "🤎🩷💌A Rights of Every Child Valentine for children and children’s rights. We love children’s rights because we love children. And that must show in how we treat them-as adults, caregivers, educators, kids’ book creators, schools, systems, families, societies, and governments. Kids are the youngest, most vulnerable among us. It is our responsibity to protect and care for them, to invite their voices, to ensure their healthy development and well-being. It is our responsiblity to uplift children and uphold their rights. Children’s rights are as vital as their hearts. 💌🤎🩷" 2 likes, 1 comments - rightsofeverychild on February 14, 2026: "🤎🩷💌A Rights of Every Child Valentine for children and children’s rights. Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "Every child has a right to protection from sexual exploitation and abuse. From the artist Debasmita Dasgupta @debasmitadasgupta: “Working with kids has always been at the heart of everything I do. Long before I became a full-time author-illustrator, I spent more than a decade in international development, teaming up with the UN, the European Commission, and governments across Asia and Europe. My days were filled with big, urgent campaigns: preventing child trafficking, making sure every child had access to education, reminding the world that children have rights that must be protected. Somewhere along the way, all of that work settled into my bones. It still lives there. Child rights, art with a purpose, giving young people a voice. These aren’t just themes in my creative life. They’re the center of it. Now, when I’m not writing or illustrating stories for publishers, I’m collaborating with nonprofits around the world to create visual stories of change and the people who make it happen. Every project feels like a small but necessary reminder: children matter, their rights matter, and it’s up to all of us to keep saying so. That’s why I’m so grateful to ‘Rights for Every Child’ for giving me this opportunity to create this piece for the world. [image description: striking, gestural illustration of two children looking directly at the viewer surrounded by ghost-like figures with bright green eyes reaching toward them from the red-orange periphery, the children subtly protected inside a bubble, each with a bright green bird as companion.]" 4 likes, 0 comments - rightsofeverychild on February 9, 2026: "Every child has a right to protection from sexual exploitation and abuse. Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "From the artist Roz Maclean @roz_maclean: “Every child has the right to protection from physical violence. On a personal or larger scale, when children experience physical violence - harm to their bodies, to their homes, loss of their health, loss of safety - it reflects the failure of the adults in power whose job it is to protect them. When we allow children to suffer physical violence, it is a reflection on all of us. The child in this illustration is harvesting olives from a tree in his homeland, where his family has lived for many generations. You can’t see them, but they are nearby, also picking olives from the tree’s branches. This child is safe and carefree, the way it should be.” [image description: a child in jeans and a striped red shirt sits contentedly in an olive tree reaching up to pick fruits while holding a basket in the crook of their other elbow. We hold workshops with groups of children virtually or in-person to get kids discussing, sharing, and creating around their rights. The UNCRC itself calls for adults and children to learn about it and to share human rights and freedoms. Education is a key piece! The UNCRC is all about both PROTECTION of children and their PARTICIPATION. Children’s voices should be heard and valued; kids should be part of whatever concerns them. Children all over the world are already disenfranchised and treated differently just based on their age, and by respecting and honoring their universal right to freedom of peaceful assembly, children are allowed to have certain levels of agency over themselves, defend their rights, become participants in their worlds, and help advocate for their futures. And whether they gather in person or online, as adults, we have to protect their right to be free from discrimination, harassment, and other forms of restrictions when they gather.” [image description: a variance of children behind and in front of a banner, one with a megaphone, one with a sign, one with a drum, all of them mouths open, voices signified by polka dots in a joyful, intentional gathering. Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "“Every child has a right to a safe, clean environment to live in.” From the artist Shirley Ng-Benitez @shirleysillos: “As a California native, I’m incredibly grateful to live in a place abundant in flora and fauna across the entire state from the ocean to the snowy mountains. In 2020, the SCU Lightning Complex California wildfire heightened my focus on how our global climate crisis affects all creatures so profoundly. My wish is to further compassion and connection through my stories and art, so for this important initiative, I wanted to create a ‘safe and clean world’ every child deserves. You’ll find native flora and fauna from all parts of the world including the Antarctic (red beech leaves), the European Marguerite daisy, and the African protea; as well as children and creatures dreaming and living under clean air and bright skies, and experiencing nature’s gifts on land and at sea.” [Image description: rich, colorful mixed media collage illustration on white background in the shape of a crescent encompassing different landscapes, flora and fauna, and children exploring waterways, forests, and more natural spaces in adventure, safety, and joy. Certain elements like flowers and butterfly pop from the image. ]" Shirley Ng-Benitez's artwork and story highlight the urgent need to protect our planet and its inhabitants. The 'Safe and Clean World' initiative showcases the beauty of flora and fauna from around the world, while emphasizing the importance of a clean environment for every child's well-being. Explore the intersection of nature, creativity, and compassion in this inspiring post.

Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "We adapted part of article 24 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child to: “Every child has a right to clean water.” Here is that part of it in full: ...(c) To combat disease and malnutrition, including within the framework of primary health care, through, inter alia, the application of readily available technology and through the provision of adequate nutritious foods and clean drinking-water, taking into consideration the dangers and risks of environmental pollution;... and @mb__carvalho ‘s art and reflection: “I come from the northeast of Brazil, a place where water holds immense power, both symbolic and material. In 2023, 14 million people in the region still didn’t have access to clean water. This lack of access impacts poor and black families the most, with children being particularly affected. With this illustration, I wanted to honour my home and its struggles, while still celebrating the joys and colour that this basic right can bring to a child’s life.”" 0 likes, 0 comments - rightsofeverychild on December 18, 2025: "We adapted part of article 24 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child to: “Every child has a right to clean water.” Here is that part of it in full: ...(c) To combat disease and malnutrition, including within the framework of primary health care, through, inter alia, the application of readily available technology and through the provision of adequate nutritious foods and clean drinking-water, taking into consideration the dangers and risks of environmental pollution;... and @mb__carvalho ‘s art and reflection: “I come from the northeast of Brazil, a place where water holds immense power, both symbolic and material. Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "Meet the artist @mb__carvalho! MB Carvalho is an author-illustrator from northeast Brazil. His favourite stories build a bridge between the mundane and the fantastical. When not doodling, he enjoys catching up on the neighbourhood birds’ gossip." 6 likes, 1 comments - rightsofeverychild on December 17, 2025: "Meet the artist @mb__carvalho! Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "THANK YOU, ARTISTS! The heart of this project is collaboration. Without you, the children’s book illustrators who’ve created each piece, The Rights of Every Child would not exist. This year, you’ve brought generosity, talent, passion, and love to your art and this community. Thank you for your voice and advocacy." 10 likes, 8 comments - rightsofeverychild on December 12, 2025: "THANK YOU, ARTISTS! The heart of this project is collaboration. Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "Since we started our fundraiser for UNICEF over the summer, we’ve sold 38 shirts and 280 USD (the total amount minus taxes) will soon be on its way. Thank you!! If you’d like to purchase a tee or sweatshirt before the year is up, please do! Each one shows support for children’s rights + gives to @unicef ‘s aid work in Gaza and around the world." 0 likes, 1 comments - rightsofeverychild on December 11, 2025: "Since we started our fundraiser for UNICEF over the summer, we’ve sold 38 shirts and 280 USD (the total amount minus taxes) will soon be on its way.
