It sounds cynical, but getting accountability for all this is going to take more than a narrow victory that's quickly reversed. So we've got to talk to the "price of eggs" people.
Over 50% already hate Trump and would reject any rationale for war he gave. That's not enough for Democrats to actually have the power to stop him. Harping on gas prices could drive his strong disapproval over 60%, and any attempt to send ground troops could drive it still higher.
Obama would not have launched this war, as demonstrated by the fact that he didn't. Every other president has looked at the situation and said, how about we DON'T get bogged down there? It took a bunch that's simultaneously evil, dumb as rocks, and eager for the end of the world to try it.
Democrats already have the single white women, Black women, and lesbians. That's not where the swing votes are. But I think there are gettable votes among Asian and Latina moms in suburbia, as well as among non-voters.

Suburban white women of the Millennial and later generations have really helped swing the suburbs. Now to figure out how to get them to bring their husbands and larger male children along.

I think we need democratic standards for access to the economic goodies. Want the best terms of trade, or the ability to pay debts in your own currency? Here's the standard for campaign finance, for making sure small factions can't take over, for the ethics of the leadership, and so on.
Heck, I want there to be lots of pathways for members of the hard right who want to change, who are sincere about leaving all that behind and who want to make amends. But being squirrelly about wanting to change and having his first big move be a Senate run are both suspicious.

I think a woman of color is more likely to win for the Democrats than a white woman, but I don't think she will be particularly progressive. Women and people of color are always perceived as further left than they are (see, the person on this thread who thought Biden was more conservative than...
People still think there's a "they" there who can tell the sitting president to do what he doesn't want to do. Before anything else, we have to drop that assumption. There's no consistent group of people bossing the Democrats, and the question is always who can herd cats the best.
