I think there were seasons that Vermes didn't sub. Seriously.

Backe was still better than Nicol or Vermes.

We all get turned down for credentials. Our outlets get turned down for credentials. It happens. If you want to do international and professional sports media stuff, you have to take a long term view. I kept a full-time job my first 15 years as a pro photographer. But I was a paid photographer.
Then don't complain about an international sport governing body not considering you media. You're trying to have it both ways. If you want to shoot for free, then go for it. If you want to make money - even on the side with a full-time job, then do that, but accept the limitations of others.
Fair.
I'm not shooting each and every Gold Cup and WCQ like I used to because of the economics. I have a paycheck lined up 20-25 days/month shooting sports. And I still get called to shoot international soccer events - for money. Demand compensation. If they want your photos, they'll pay for them.
I'm a recognized MLS/WUSA original and I've worked multiple World Cups. But the world and industry have changed. If you're providing photos in exchange for a credential with the hope of sales later, you're part of the problem even if you don't see that.
You're only willing to shoot high profile international and professional sports? You want to do this full-time or not? If you're in the U.S, there are thousands of collegiate teams of all sports with money to burn and noone to take photos for them. All you gotta do is send an email and ask.

I don't really watch TV with ads anymore. I know I've seen a few with Pulisic and some of the newer WNT players, but nothing I can recall for sure.
I still think the all-time best might be this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPo4...
