See, this is why it can be painful to know too much history.π«€
This post implies that what is happening in Kansas is *similar* to what the nazis did.
But it's not just similar. It's *identical*.
In 1933, nazis revoked trans people's documents. Before 1938.

Migraine people: Do you ever get the kind that don't hurt unless you think or move? I hate this kind. They're like a mean trick because I think it's over and then I get up to go to the bathroom and my head explodes in pain.
The nutrient profile of a planet is determined by a combination of inheritance from the bulk composition of the system in which it formed, modification of the bulk planetary composition relative to the wider system during the planet-formation process itself and internal partitioning of nutrients between core and mantle as a function of oxygen fugacity (schematic colour scale). Cosmochemical scatter refers to the rough local-scale variability that is observed in galactic abundances of P and N, bounded by the dashed lines. Cosmochemical scatter is illustrated to communicate the fact that not every star system forms from material with the same composition, that is, variation throughout the galaxy in the relative abundances of P and N compared with rock-forming elements. Regions of mantle P depletion relative to Earth are shown with a black hatched overlay, regions of N depletion are shown by a white hatched overlay and regions PβN codepletion are shown with both.
We talk about the Goldilocks Zone for habitable planets mostly from a temperature perspective, but it's not the only thing that counts. Being in the right zone during accreation matters as well - wrong composition, and you won't have the building blocks for life. π§ͺ

We are a nation in which thousands of Black people were "legally" kidnapped with the assistance of the federal government & sent back into slavery.
We are also a nation in which thousands of white & Black people organized in their local communities to try to stop those kidnappings.
"We" are both.
The opportunity to help Abdul El-Sayed become a US senator is one reason that I wish I still lived in Michigan.
I'm unreasonably delighted to learn this!
A screenshot of a letter on Jon Husted's United States Senate Letterhead with Jon Husted's signature at the bottom. The letter is dated February 6th, 2026 and reads: Dear Andrea, Thank you for reaching out about your concerns with the expiration of the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for Haitian nationals. Listening to Ohioans is important to me, and your input helps me better represent our state. TPS was established in 1990 to grant temporary lawful status and work authorization to individuals from designated countries suffering from extraordinary conditions. On November 28, 2025, the Department of Homeland Security published a notice clarifying that Haiti no longer meets the statutory conditions for the TPS designation. The TPS designation for Haitian nationals expired on February 3, 2026, and is the subject of ongoing litigation. On February 2, 2026, a federal judge postponed the termination of TPS for Haitian nationals, and the Department of Homeland Security is expected to appeal that ruling. My office continues to monitor the status of this litigation. I recognize that TPS was, and is, intended as a temporary humanitarian assistance measure. As this temporary status expires, I remain confident state and local officials in Ohio will continue their longstanding partnership with the federal government in ensuring that established immigration law is upheld in a coordinated manner. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact my Washington, DC office at (202) 224-3353 or my Columbus office at (614) 369-4925. For timely updates on my work, you can also visit www.husted.senate.gov to sign up for my e-newsletter or follow me on Facebook at www.facebook.com/senjonhusted and on X at @senjonhusted. Sincerely, Jon Husted United States Senator
I've read articles stating that Ohio Senator Jon Husted has not released a statement about the end of TPS for Haitians. This is his response when constituents email him about the issue.
Cool, cool
Getting the kids passports that verify their citizenship and identity will help keep them safe and help ensure they are allowed to stay with designated guardians.
Conditions in Haiti are extremely dangerous and many parents do not want to have to move their children there. Parents are designating guardians in case ICE picks them up to help ensure that their kids don't end up in the foster care system.
According to Casey Rollins, who is coordinating this effort, each passport costs about $190 dollars and there are over 2500 kids in Springfield who are US citizens whose parents are at risk of being sent to Haiti if TPS status is revoked.
St. Vincent de Paul in Springfield, Ohio is helping children of Haitian immigrants obtain passports ahead of whatever ICE action may come. These kids are US citizens who were born in Ohio to parents living here under temporary protected status. Donate here to support: svdpspfld.org

BREAKING: A U.S. District Court judge blocked the Trump administrationβs attempt to end protected status for about 330,000 Haitians living in the United States with Temporary Protected Status.
I'm so sorry. I hope you can get the joy back.
UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA FRITZ EMMANUEL LESLY MIOT, et al., Plaintiffs, Case No. 25-cv-02471 (ACR) V. DONALD J. TRUMP, et al., Defendants. MEMORANDUM OPINION On December 2, 1783, then-Commander-in-Chief George Washington penned: "America is open to receive not only the Opulent & respected Stranger, but the oppressed & persecuted of all Nations & Religions." More than two centuries later, Congress reaffirmed President Washington's vision by establishing the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program. See 8 U.S.C. Β§ 1254a (TPS statute). It provides humanitarian relief to foreign nationals in the United States who come from disaster-stricken countries. It also brings in substantial revenue, with TPS holders generating $5.2 billion in taxes annually. See Part VI. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem has a different take.? eSec Noem I just met with the President. I am recommending a full travel ban on every damn country that's been flooding our nation with killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies. Our forefathers built this nation on blood, sweat, and the unyielding love of freedom-not for foreign invaders to slaughter our heroes, suck dry our hard-earned tax dollars, or snatch the benefits owed to AMERICANS. WE DON'T WANT THEM. NOT ONE. 6:52 PM - Dec 1, 2025 - 13.2M Views ' Letter from George Washington to Joshua Holmes (December 2, 1783). 2 Dkt. 90 (Second Am. Compl.) 1110 n.91. But see supra n.l.
So says the official responsible for overseeing the TPS program. And one of those (her word) "damn" countries is Haiti. Relevant here, three days before making the above post, Secretary Noem announced she would terminate Haiti's TPS designation as of February 3, 2026. See 90 Fed. Reg. 54733 (Nov. 28, 2025) (Termination). Plaintiffs are five Haitian TPS holders. They are not, it emerges, "killers, leeches, or entitlement junkies." They are instead: Fritz Emmanuel Lesly Miot, a neuroscientist researching Alzheimer's disease, Dkt. 90 (Second Am. Compl. (SAC)) 1 1; Rudolph Civil, a software engineer at a national bank, id. 1 2; Marlene Gail Noble, a laboratory assistant in a toxicology department, id. | 3; Marica Merline Laguerre, a college economics major, id. 9| 4; and Vilbrun Dorsainvil, a full-time registered nurse, id. 9|5. They claim that Secretary Noem's decision violates the Administrative Procedure Act (APA), 5 U.S.C. Β§ 706(2), and the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The Government counters that the Court does not have jurisdiction, and, in any case, the Secretary did not violate the law. Plaintiffs seek to stay the Secretary's decision under 5 U.S.C. Β§ 705 pending the outcome of this litigation. See Dkt. 81 (Β§ 705 Mot.). To decide their motion, the Court considers first whether it has jurisdiction. It does. See Part II. It then considers: whether Plaintiffs have a substantial likelihood of success on the merits; whether they will be irreparably harmed absent a stay; and whether a merged balance of the equities and public interest analysis favors a stay. See Part III. Each element favors Plaintiffs. See Parts IV, V, and VI.
Finally, the balance of equities and public interest favor a stay. The Government does not cite any reason termination must occur post haste. Secretary Noem complains of strains unlawful immigrants place on our immigration-enforcement system. Her answer? Turn 352,959 lawful immigrants into unlawful immigrants overnight. She complains of strains to our economy. Her answer? Turn employed lawful immigrants who contribute billions in taxes into the legally unemployable. She complains of strains to our healthcare system. Her answer? Turn the insured into the uninsured. This approach is many thingsβ in the public interest is not one of them. For the reasons below, the Court GRANTS Plaintiffs' Renewed Motion for a Stay Under 5 U.S.C. Β§ 705, Dkt. 81.
BREAKING: Judge Ana Reyes, in DC, issues a stay of DHS Sec. Noemβs decision to end Haitiβs temporary protected status (TPS) designation, a decision that was to go into effect on Tuesday and could have ended legal status for up to 350,000 people overnight. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Basically just don't participate in any surveys or studies about trans people right now unless you can verify who's behind it and what their intentions are. Do not give your info to strangers if you're trans in 2026.

I don't get to call time out.
Similarly, trans kids don't get to call timeout. Gay folk don't hop back in the closet for a few years during a US fashy crash out.
So my recommendation: stay true to your allyship values.ππΏ

I just finished reading The Constant Rabbit by Jasper Fforde and now I need everyone else to read it and meet me at the coffee shop so we can chat.
That's an excellent question. If I ever get the chance to offer popcorn to a binturong, I'll let you know how it turns out.
