To some authors, what they write is only something to make money from. I consider them as the market chasers. Others do this but value what they write. I chose at the start of my writing life to appreciate what I wrote and enjoy it as a reader.

Last thing before publishing I make an outline of each chapter. In case someone asks me what the story was about. I need an outline to remind me what I wrote.

I enjoy reading different fiction genres and nonfiction. This year I added poems to my list of things to read. To be honest, I struggle understanding most poems. But I am enjoying reading Mary Oliver’s poems (Little Alleluias).

On a podcast, an author said when writing books is a business, the writing should not be for fun. I say “yuck.” I can make more money elsewhere that is not fun.
