Totally! In that case, why not name and normalize that anxiety (eg, in how we teach and talk about statistics, in how our textbooks are named/titled)?
I think both truths coexist β statistics (and other disciplines/skills) can be essential to science, and can be intimidating to talented scientists with strengths in other areas. None of us are confident in every aspect of our science (and if someone is, Iβm not sure I trust their science).
