You CSS nerds spent years saying stuff like "CSS is a programming language!"
Just look at what you've done. Are you happy now? Is this the world you wanted for your children?

In lieu of being able to clone me, you can have a longer download from me and from @analog-ashley.bsky.social as we march straight into hell (talking about whether people can learn in the AI era and how we're trying to show up for our communities on this)

There are some great people, @yanthomas.dev included, looking for their next adventure!
Oh hey, and me included, too! I'm not in a rush, but keeping my eye out for the right opportunity in docs or community leadership. If you've liked using or contributing to Astro, maybe part of that came from me!
starts with a roux, then gradually add milk or cream to it and finish with some ground nutmeg
Yeah, it's a tough call! Also this is definitely a pretty unusual hoop they're having you jump through haha
Plot twist, the octopus has a tentacle hook?
Woah this is cool!
Oh! That makes sense, and sounds awful. Depending on where you are, humidity can also sway the 'feels like' temperature a lot π₯²
I read this as a Canadian and thought, hmm not bad. Then I realized it's not in Celsius π₯Ά
Jelly! If there's ever a remote/virtual option, would love to attend :)
I'm gonna resonant computing so hard that my adaptive pluriverse becomes as prosocial as a god damned golden retriever.

Canadians! You can now vote for the Canadian Word of the Year!
(If we had the option to choose a Canadian WOTY in French as well, I'd suggest the gender-neutral pronoun "iel" which has been in the news a lot in Quebec this year, but probably not applicable since this is an English dictionary)
That's a pokemon!
The message, βLabels for form controls,β in the style of Zohran Mamdaniβs mayoral campaign.
Exciting!! Also I need "hidey bar" to be a technical term from the spec pls
I shared this earlier because I think it is so funny but then I also thought to myself, what advice would I (a learning scientist by background, married to someone who teaches programming) actually give a developer who feels bad reading this? How can you avoid writing this?
A few tips:
***Use the whole language***
Between the time we launched the original Learn CSS course on web.dev and today, container queries landed in browsers and became Baseline Widely available! It was high time for an update, and we were lucky enough to have the team at OddBird work with us. Enjoy 9 new modules! web.dev/blog/learn-c...
when you learned Git for the first time, what resources did you use? Did you like them? Mostly looking for answers from folks who learned Git in the last 5 years or so.
Looking for resources to potentially add to the Git website
An exciting milestone!! π
We're goin up, up up, it's our mooooment
So hyped to read this!
A phone screenshot showing the Focus Friend productivity app. It shows a red game character knitting and saying 'Don't interrupt me!', 18:04 left in the focus session, and a red button that says 'Stop Focusing' at the bottom of the screen. In the top right, there is a speaker icon button set to play sounds and can be pressed to turn them off.
The chill video game music, the reverse psychology of the 'Stop Focusing' button, and home decorating as a reward? It's my first day but it's like this app was made for me π #focusfriend
A Wikipedia-style guideline page on avoiding exaggerated wording by LLMs, with two sections titled Undue emphasis on symbolism and importance and Promotional language. Each section lists βwords to watchβ in a beige box, such as "stands as a testament", "plays a vital role", "rich cultural heritage", "breathtaking", and "must-see". Below, example sentences are shown with problematic phrases highlighted in yellow, including "enhancing its significance", "captivates both residents and visitors alike", "stands as a symbol", "reflects the evolving identity", "vibrant town with a rich cultural heritage", "fascinating glimpse into the diverse tapestry", and "value-driven experiences".
This is really fascinating

I scored 11/21 on e-mail.wtf and all I got was this lousy text to share on social media.
I love CSS folks. They are soldiers of joy and delight. The world is burning and AI debates have people at each others throats and CSS peeps keep being like βcheck out this dancing turtle I made out of divs π₯°β
Exciting!!
