When I design a lesson I try to remember that learners vary in how they use the functions of their brain. I try to remember all the research-based strategies I know. And I get very tired, and sometimes overwhelmed, but then I pick up the UDL Guidelines because they help me remember all that stuff!

If I could do only one thing to shift learning in a school community, I would hang a big banner that reads: The barriers is in the design, not the learner. And no matter the discussion topic, I'd bring people back to this statement. It is the greatest design call to action I know. #UDL
