A long time ago I bought a Yamaha 650 from a guy who had been stationed in Hawaii. The non functioning electric stater was filled with sand. Kevin Carmichael just gave the Tiger 1200 back to the dealer. BTW it was a good thing the sand was hard packed.
My Tiger 1200 is a top heavy monster for which I don't pretend to have the skill to ride off road. However, it pulls like a train, eats miles, absorbs potholes/rough pavement without breaking my back and can carry a household.
They should sell well, priced reasonably and RE owners seem to love them; build quality is apparently good enough. In my part of the USA, many used bikes suffer severe depreciation so why not buy cheaper.

Tire pressure often, note need to adjust and use as guide. Brake light, easy enough to do daily. Oil level frequently and chain especially after riding in rain.
