Maybe it's been there for a while, but today I noticed that you can actually disable the annoying lightbox that pops up when you click on an image in #SharePoint!! This is awesome!

Microsoft snuck in a "when you need it, it's great" feature in #SharePoint to open links in a new tab! In addition to Quick Links, Navigation, and Text, you can now open links in a new tab with the Button, Image, and Editorial Card web parts!

I typically use the new Link that gives you a URL. You can add metadata to the link by using Grid view. Not the same content type so it depends on your outcome goal, but you can definitely add the metadata and filter and sort and show the content in the highlighted content and other web parts.
