The Figma universe is ever-expanding
The best product teams understand how to confidently and incrementally execute on their vision in a way that allows them to learn and pivot as needed.
Product teams fall back on building as much product as possible when they lack the confidence to define a vision and execute. Teams that don't feel confident move without intention β using the guise of "agile" to justify their approach.

I've been in the field for a decade and it feels at times we're in a worse spot than we were when I started
Reduction in overall headcount for design (especially roles like research, operations), design reduced to a service instead of an embedded product org practice, hiring practices that index on the wrong skills, and more. I could probably go on for a while.
I run ocux.org and I've been having a hard time wrapping my head around the shift I've seen. I really want to find out more about what people want out of an established design community.
Networking is fun and all (and necessary given the current job market) but I want our group to go beyond that.
What does the future of design industry thought leadership look like? Feels like we're ripe for a big shift.
Product design is backsliding as a discipline and we have industry leaders out here shilling AI. Honestly depressing.
