Having all of the Best New Artist nominees perform back to back like this is a, perhaps inadvertent, illustration of the futility of comparing art. It's not just apples and oranges, it's kiwis and pineapples. But what an interesting class. (Rooting for Olivia)
Joni Mitchell on hand to accept the Best Historical Album receives a standing ovation, not realizing she has won at first is so endearing and going on a shambolic speech talking about David Crosby, the LA Express, David Geffen & putting "a big horse's ass on Sunset for awhile" is just too much fun.
It is hard to imagine that anything is going to top Tyler Childers winning Best Country Song for "Bitin' List." Stupendous.

Amy Allen just won Songwriter of the Year Non-Classical, an award she won last year as well. (She co-wrote songs by Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter and Bruno Mars & Rose among others). She notes in her speech "To the labels out there: Songwriters should all be receiving points." Amen.
SINNERS just won two Grammys back to back for Ludwig Goransson and his various collaborators - including Ryan Coogler - for Best Compilation Soundtrack and Best Score Soundtrack. Auspicious!
It may have been an Oscar shut out but Cynthia Erivo & Ariana Grande win the day's first Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Defying Gravity."

My TV wish for 2026: For the Kings to cast Alyson Hannigan as a niece/cousin/heretofore-unmentioned younger sister for Elsbeth. She can be recurring, like Carrie was on Good Wife/Fight. (I mean, yes, as Willow on the Buffy reboot too.) They could bond over vampire experiences.
