Very cool, thanks Rob!
Very cool, thanks Rob!
Looks great! I’ve been meaning to ask what paper you use that’ll take this much punishment not to mention your juicier stuff.
I don't know about you but the surest sign I'm invested in a project is having something else do it for me from the jump and then trashing the final product the second the doer-machine gets a mild upgrade.
I love how delaying this nonsense competition would mean everyone can use whatever this new tool is to just completely redo their entries quick. It's almost as if entrants into this competition didn't care what they were making and had nothing to say from the jump.
My town has a coffee shop like that, the front of it just keep getting bashed in by cars that hop the curb.

Battery powered and does 4 little beep-beep alarms at zero.
I use this and it does not tick.
For people of a specific age Tom Morello in Minneapolis is like hearing "Yeah the Joker has a real bad plan but Batman's out there too." May Tom Morello live to be 120 years old.
Just a reminder, the greatest living American historian filmmaker, Ken Burns, released a 720 min exploration of every facet of the American revolution using zero generative AI and paying for all of its assets instead of cobbling it from stolen data, then he gave it away for free on PBS this year.
What fucking trash. The average-ized slow-mo speed with which everything moves including the camera and the way the cuts come just right at the moment where the AI ran to ground on what to do next just makes me think who the fuck wants this?
These little buggers were too much in the best way.
And clean up your eraser crumbs! That crap is corrosive to lots of materials, plastic rulers, pencil sharpeners, triangles, circle guides, maybe even the varnish on your desk.
IE my old Sketchboard pro I’m not using
Mind if I DM you a re: a procurement option?
Morbid curiosity, Bob, what iPad do you have?
“How much does having the smooth big margins help with the drawing in the rectangle in the middle?”
If you’re killing it on the distraction front and just want a smoother sweep of the arm for Procreate, SBP is an admittedly expensive but very comfy fix for that. I will say it’s better for me on desk but if you take a big pad of paper in your lap and draw in just the middle that’s the vibe.
But for making iPad sketching comfier it is a good product. It’s just the iPad being general use can make that benefit either a chore or a mixed bag sometimes.
The other problem is the iPad is a Swiss army knife so the 900 other things you use the iPad for feel stupid in the SBP so you take it out, do a movie, put it back in, take it out, email. Upping your use of the iPad as a drawing tool increases your exposure to the iPad as a distraction machine.
So it’s always like so much more convenient than a cintiq plus laptop but not quite as comfortable and that opens up this rift in your brain where people are entirely happy selling you kludges that do help but never totally fix it.
It’s this tricky thing, right because you buy the iPad for convenience and then it’s *almost* good enough to make you think “I’m gonna use this even *more* than for convenient sketching if I can just get it a *tiny* bit better.
I think the question is entirely “How much does it bother you that your hand runs off the edge of the iPad?” That’s really the thing this fixes. It’s a decently nice kludge that tries to answer the question “Wouldn’t it be nice if the iPad at least *felt* big to your hand like a Cintiq?”
Tell me your pet’s name in a gif
He could have at least completed his change of form from lizard to vaguely passable for human before they snapped the picture.
