Why is there always enough money for MORE BOMBS and never enough for school meals, healthcare, or to protect people from climate disasters?
Why is there always enough money for MORE BOMBS and never enough for school meals, healthcare, or to protect people from climate disasters?
Today, as some governments promote a new βnuclear renaissanceβ, the question remains: What should the future of energy look like? ποΈπ
After the 2011 disaster, all nuclear reactors β’οΈ in the country were shut down. For almost 2οΈβ£ years, Japan produced no nuclear electricity at all.
But instead of accelerating the shift to renewable energy, huge resources were spent trying to restart reactors β with limited success.
π―π΅ 15 years later: remembering #Fukushima β’οΈ In 2011, an earthquake & tsunami struck Japan & triggered a devastating disaster. But the nuclear catastrophe that followed was not inevitable. It was shaped by human decisions, systemic risks and flawed energy choices. And those risks have not disappeared.
Stop bombing schools.
Stop bombing hospitals.
Stop bombing homes.
Stop bombing children.
Stop bombing.
We are with the people of Iran, who are oppressed by a murderous regime and now have to endure this war too. They deserve peace and freedom. #FreeIran #ZanZendegiAzadi
Big Oil wants to silence the Greenpeace network and the climate movement with intimidation tactics like lawsuits. But People Power is only growing in response to such attacks βππ #TimeToResist #StopCorporateIntimidation
Greenpeace Luxembourg stands in solidarity with Greenpeace in the US and Greenpeace International as they continue the legal fight against fossil fuel pipeline company Energy Transfer's abusive SLAPP lawsuits.
7/7 We will keep resisting billionaires, corporate bullies and polluters.
Itβs #TimeToResist. Add your name π www.greenpeace.org/luxembourg/f...
6/7 This is not over!
All Greenpeace entities involved will appeal this ruling in the US.
And Greenpeace International is already taking Energy Transfer to court in the Netherlands under the EUβs anti-SLAPP directive.
5/7 Letβs be clear: this type of corporate bullying is designed to rob us of our rights and freedoms.
Across the world, those who speak out are facing corporate intimidation β all so billionaires and corporations can keep getting richer while the planet burns.
4/7 US$ 345 million.
Thatβs what Greenpeace International and Greenpeace entities in the US have been ordered to pay.
Itβs the biggest damage award ever imposed on Greenpeace organisations. Itβs meant to shut the movement up.
3/7 Energy Transfer has pursued this intimidation lawsuit because Greenpeace USA and Greenpeace International dared to show solidarity with Indigenous environmental defenders who oppose the climate-wrecking Dakota Access Pipeline.
2/7 This case was never about justice. It was about silencing protest and crushing solidarity.
1/7 BREAKING: A US court has just sided with fossil fuel pipeline giant Energy Transfer and ordered Greenpeace International and Greenpeace entities in the US to pay them US$ 345 million.
This is a billionaire-backed attack on the right to protest. A thread ‡οΈπ§΅

ππ Residents of Bonaire won a historic court case. The Hague District Court ruled that the Netherlands is violating their human rights by failing to protect them from the climate crisis. This decision shows that climate protection is a human rights issue. #ClimateVictory
NEW research from @ember-energy.org finds that wind and solar overtook fossil fuels in the EU electricity mix for the FIRST time ever in 2025.
Wind and solar energy made up a RECORD 30% of European electricity, up from 20% just five years ago - a major milestone for energy transition. π₯³ π
After decades of campaigning, persistence, and global solidarity, the Global Ocean Treaty finally enters into force on January 17. π A huge win for our oceans and for everyone who fought to protect them.π
The EU-Mercosur deal is a disaster for the Amazon, the climate, and indigenous rights. Luxembourg has sided with this destructive treaty, but we will continue to resist it until the European Parliament stops it! π
