both Andor s1 and s2 are easily the best SW TV, despite their unevenness. it's just frustrating that "despite its unevenness" is a phrase you have to use at all when talking about SW. I know that stretches back even to ROTJ but that film looks patently coherent by contrast with what followed.
Last four or five episodes were quite good, imo a huge contrast with the front half though.
yeah okay the show did eventually get there for me
The βlets tell anyone we dont like to kill themselvesβ crowd are not welcome here sorry
it probably doesn't help that I think the bloke who plays syril is a dreadful actor
I think imperial mother in law was an all time low point. also felt extreme embarrassment at all the wedding stuff (wow! ritual!), and thought that in particular the use of the dance music over the footage from the other plot lines was highly misguided
ugh okay maybe I will persist, absolutely hated episodes 2 and 3
the big problem is that every time there's Discourse, people will conflate every argument against their position as if they're all coming from one ludicrous person, when in fact it's many people arguing many (often contradictory) things. this makes a conversation, much less understanding, impossible
NYT comment criticizing Blake Lively.
It's important if you create art about difficult topics to urge audiences not to go see it. Also to promise that any earnings you do find yourself with be donate to charity on the difficult topic's theme.
the culture is fascinatingly weird, so many of god's most special children busily carving out their own little burrows
Ok I know nobody cares about this but me, but GOD I care:
1. I have just downloaded your app.
2. You want me to make an account. I donβt want to make an account!
3. When I enter my email, you inform me that I already have an account! This seems like a good thing, but I know it means only pain. 1/2
Held, by Kourakis CJ, Bleby JA and Stein AJA agreeing, dismissing the Respondentβs applications: 1. The preservation of a personβs personal or professional reputation is a consideration exogenous to the determination of whether it is appropriate to grant a suppression order pursuant to s 69A of the Evidence Act 1929 (SA) or necessary otherwise to close the Court to the public.

As I said the other day, remember when blockchain was so essential that law students were repeatedly told we needed to develop blockchain related expertise. About 7 years ago lol.
nothing that *you* don't already know, maybe, but I think less informed readers of your posts deserve to know that when you say these powers are "infinite" and "unlimited", those descriptions are not literally accurate
the grounds on which the courts might find such an instrument to be invalid could include failure to afford procedural fairness to a provider. they would certainly include inconsistency with the authorising act, or exercise for an improper purpose, among many other grounds.
it is not right to describe any of the powers the bill would confer on the minister as "unlimited". the minister's power is to make legislative instruments that are subject to parliamentary scrutiny and disallowance. exercises of that power are also susceptible to judicial review by the courts.
because posting is in my blood i will probably make the odd one from time to time, especially as more people come across. but expect them to be pretty fucking anodyne until i can more confidently rely on my employer not being able to see them
anyway, while this all probably sounds a bit sore, this latest wave of bluesky inflation has been a lot more encouraging than the last one, and i genuinely hope the platform continues to grow and improve
i also don't love that likes are public. sorry, but twitter got that one right (eventually). the only purpose of likes being public, as far as i can tell, is so that you can go through an enemy's likes and find something inconvenient to skewer them for
www.reddit.com/r/BlueskySoc... long story short, private/locked accounts were (as of 15/8/23) "on the roadmap but won't be in the near future". i'd like to post here more but frankly won't be doing that until this feature is available; shame it's some way off
quietly
longest movie i saw in a cinema recently was Beau is Afraid, and I regret it (movie sucked)
interval is a bare minimum requirement for long movies, it sucks that they don't do them
Sort of
alts for the alt god
I'm crossing my fingers
lack of private mode on here is a killer
