new album soon
people have been saying it for a while but it's true ... computing is soon going to be the preserve of the privileged. big corpo wants you to own nothing and rent it all from their clouds etc
i do like the idea of the nas being accessible in emergencies if i've just got my laptop somewhere else, vs offline backups. it's the main reason for making the switch, alongside some recent cloud backup scares
(they were just what i happened to have to hand)
if your data needs are smaller could be great to run it with just ssd's, but i guess they've been hit by price hikes also? for mine, i've found two thick marble tiles and a cushion underneath and a couple of tiles in front of it has done the job
good to know, i will probably want to expand. not looking to do media server, but i sure have a lot of data. i have two bays free
ugreen dxp4800plus, it's noisy! but so slick and easy to use
should note i do reluctantly still have cloud backup just to cover offsite but i'll be reducing my plan and downsizing it to just the essentials
ofc i'll never be able to afford replacement drives if one does fail now. thanks ai
finally got my NAS up and running, soundproofed in a cupboard under the stairs. living the cloud free dream
the legendary 'dock's blocks' i still have a package with them in my game from 2011

A photo of our Mega Drive Mk I witj a pair of headphones connected to the headphone port plugged in, and a three button pad.
A vntage photograph of Hediki at a desk with a Japanese mega drive, pads, disk drive, and a CRT TV partly in shot. He's smiling as he looks at the sleek black wonder.
RIP Hideki Sato. Former Sega President (2001-2003) and father of Sega's consoles, including my favourite one, the Mega Drive, has passed at the age of 75.
The legacy he leaves behind is immense and cherished. π
stunning :o
From ROMEO Video Director Takuma Araki:
