▶️ media narratives follow women for many years in unpredictable ways, undermining their efforts and desires for normality, safety, security and dignity
➡️ women convicted of murder face a distinctive moral landscape upon release from prison
▶️ the nature of their conviction - and the notoriety attached to it - plays a significant role in shaping their re/integration efforts

My paper in Punishment & Society discusses sentence review decision-making for life prisoners in India. Based on findings from quant-qual sequential design, I argue that SRB significantly violates lifers’ right to meaningful consideration for early release.
