In 1403 both Hotspur Percy & Prince Hal lifted their visors at Shrewsbury. Hotspur got a full force impact to his aventail & died. Hal fortunately got a ricochet arrow so didn't didn't go full force & arrow head eventually removed with Bradmore tool.

The name Holyrood, or 'Holy Cross', comes from the legend that King David I of Scots was about to be attacked by a stag while on a hunting party, when a white cross appeared between its antlers. The stag then vanished & David was saved. He then built Holyrood Church on the site.
At the Battle of Neville's Cross near Durham in 1346. Robert The Bruce's Son, King David II of Scots had two arrows in his face & one in his leg & was captured under a bridge after the Battle. He also punched the front teeth out of one of the men trying to capture him.
Dirleton Castle was slighted by King Robert the Bruce around 1311 to stop its use as an enemy base. His Commander the Black Douglas slighted Castle hill in North Berwick in 1314 when the English garrison fled on seeing King Edward II being chased by the Douglas to Dunbar Castle.

The battle of Boroughmuir in 1335 thru the streets of Edinburgh the English army fled to the ruins of the Castle. One young knight charged Richard Shaw & didn't swerve. Both knights were killed, impaled by their lances. The knight was stripped of armour and found to be a girl!
Hotspur Percy besieged Hailes in 1400. But was chased away a night by Archie Douglas. He then defeated Archie and the Scots army at Homildon hill in 1402. Archie joined forces with him to fight at Shrewsbury in 1403 but this was where Hotspur was killed.
