I do like to think that every new encounter with gender diversity, like a name not matching a gender, or a voice/tone not matching what someone assumed, might help someone else down the line. Maybe enough instances will get people to expand their expectations
I deal with this a lot as a receptionist when I call insurance companies. I think a lot of people working call center jobs also are very used to using either miss or sir as often as possible in an attempt to be polite. I’ll try to correct the terms now and again but it never sticks 🥲

Found out recently that you can ask them to put the heavy vests on you that they use during X-rays while you have fillings done. It makes the horrors much less horrible
