I'll be happy if we never see this ref again.
I'll be happy if we never see this ref again.
For all the people saying the penalty was soft - his back/side clearly clips Noni, really visible on one of the angles. Definitely a penalty.
Thank fuck.
Please score.
If this is the Jesus we saw at the weekend, I think it will break me.
Too many of our players have attempted to pass straight through a player right in front of them in the final third. It's bizarre.
If we can't get a goal back tonight, I think it's going to be a horrible second leg. It'll enable Leverkusen to just sit deep and we'll huff and puff...
I'd really like to see Dowman coming on, but I imagine it'll be Noni.
Oh dear, we're miles off it, aren't we? I was expecting a really sharp display today but no...
Have just watched "I Swear" and it's a cracking film. It's also impossible to consider the fallout from the baftas without being incredibly disappointed.
Dowman could well be ahead of Martinelli and Jesus as an attacking option for the rest of the season.
Have *any* of Martinelli's flicks / touches come off today?
When we signed Jesus, he was a game-changer and felt like a different level of player to the squad then. It's a real testament to how much we've grown / he's regressed that I'm screaming for him to be brought off.
My lord he got that.
Salmon did really well, error aside, subbing him is going to get in his head. Really disappointed in that.
I absolutely would not be bringing Timber on?! Surely Eze and Gyokeres for Havertz and Jesus...?
It's very lucky that he made such a poor choice to shoot there, our midfield had gone completely absent.
Jesus really is having a stinker. Surely one for Gyokeres to come in to?
Dowman is looking most likely to step up and do something, which is genuinely incredible. A little damning on Jesus, Madueke, Martinelli etc al, but phenomenal from him.
I love Calafiori. He can look a fantastic player in any conditions - and not just in terms of his gorgeous visage. Like today, he looks strong and powerful and up for a battle, but can look graceful and full of flair too.
Just tuned in to watch Murillo clear off the line too. Magic.
AND...BREATHE! Massive, massive result.
I'm sure I used to like Brighton. Was it just under this manager that they became such pricks?
It's ridiculous that players even think about doing that to Saka, but they get away with it so often that it's understandable.
'kin hell Leo.
To be fair, the commentators on TNT calling this out for what it is - is both surprising and refreshing.
Trossard loves playing Brighton, hoping for some glorious shithousery opportunities for him.
Mansfield, and a rest for presumably most of the team, can't come soon enough.
The second half is massive - not just for obvious reasons. If this works for Brighton, it's a horrible precedent for the rest of our season. Public, shitty comments about cheating and then a raucous atmosphere - we have to play in spite of it, not give in to it.
Semenyo again. You get what you completely legitimately pay for...
