The first iPhone wasn’t released until 2007. It wasn’t easy to take a video clip and move it the internet, somehow.
Also during this gig, Dana Colley from @vaporsofmorphine came up for an extended jam on Dylan’s “One More Cup of Coffee.” It was epic.
To do that took a lot of intention in those days. I remember seeing them with the camcorder on their shoulder. From there it would have meant they went home, transferred the footage onto their PC, and then used loaded from there.
#flashback: Playing Tir na Nog in Union Square, Somerville, MA, way back in 2006. This gig was the first time anyone ever captured live footage of the band I was in at the time … and then loaded it onto a relatively new website called YouTube!

We lost Jim in September. He was a tremendous songwriter and collaborator, founding member of King Radio. We played together in our first high school band Exit and then years later he asked me to join him in his new group Hadley Transfer Station.
Unearthing some old 4-track experiments from 1999-ish. Adding to the nostalgia, these were archived in CD-R by my friend Jim Smola, who I shared a basement recording space with. Seeing his writing on the disc brought me right back.
