Early voting for the Texas ‘26 primaries begins tomorrow, Tue. Feb. 17th. While early voting allows you to vote at any early vote polling place in the county, on Election Day you can only vote at your designated polling location. Find a time & location that works best for you & mark your calendar.
To convey our concerns, we sent the letter above to Democratic Congressional leaders requesting them to fight for stricter rules and guidelines on DHS and ICE. Without an increase in oversight, we ask for funding to stop immediately.
Local leaders are being sidelined and public complaints are being ignored. Our stance is clear, we do not want unchecked armed agents of the government dismantling our communities.
It is time for everyone to stand up and speak out and to be prepared to do so again and again, every day and in every way, before it is too late.
When we have watched with our own eyes masked government agents turning peaceful neighborhoods into militarized zones to suppress lawful assembly, shooting innocent civilians, & ignoring basic norms of decency & democracy, we can no longer pretend this is someone else’s problem.

Yesterday, I added my name to a coalition letter from Democratic members of the TX House calling on Senators Cornyn and Cruz to halt pending legislation funding ICE unless there are measures inserted to immediately stop abusive enforcement by ICE,
It is clear ICE is targeting long-standing members of our communities, including business owners, mothers, & children.
If the purpose of ICE was truly the removal of violent criminals & gang members, we would not see agents stationed at immigration courts, waiting at schools during child pick-up, or zip-tying children in the middle of the night.
ICE and the DHS must be held accountable for their violence and reckless conduct. ICE officers are responsible for the tragic deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti and the inexcusable and illegal detention of children,U.S. citizens, and legal residents, using tactics that are prohibited by law.
