I finally (FINALLY) played Veilguard.

I would really caution anyone against implying that paywalling this feature is a legitimate response to public outcry. The paywall is an endorsement, not a restriction. Musk is saying "this thing you're all talking about is valuable. Pay me for it." The actual material effect is just monetization.

Halfsies, in three rolls? 1-3 is card 1-11, 4-6 is card 12-22. Then 1-3 is (1-6 or 12-17) and 4-6 is (7-11 or 18-22). Then results are what you roll in that range, with an irritating need to reroll 6s.

E.g. you roll a 3, then a 5, then a 4. Your result would be card 10.

There's a great table for GMs to understand how dice pool size corresponds to the difficulty of different target results, and even if it ultimately comes down to "more dice good" I like the _feel_ of how different target numbers come across to the group and how they're approached.

Having played d20-based games for *mumblemumble* years, I get the simplicity. I'm enjoying games that play with probability a bit recently, though. Soulbound is probably my favourite currently, where you need a certain number of results over a target d6 roll (e.g. two 5s, three 4s, etc.).

"Racing you to the lifeboats" is such a crisp metaphor! It instantly gives you a sense of almost belligerent self-importance. I love it and will endeavour to credit you whenever I use it in future (which I absolutely will). 11/10 no notes 🙌🏻

Svennnnnn...! My wife and I played DOS and DOS2 to death. She bought me BG3 on release day as an anniversary gift. I was _hyped_ about the Divinity announcement. And just like that...I'm not.
