Apparently the protests are really getting to the provincial government. They’re pushing budget talks til 10pm tonight and blaming it on today’s protest. In other words, it’s working Nova Scotia. Keep going!
I saw that…it’s a travesty. The province can’t have it both ways. They assumed control in 2018 with the abolishment of school boards and establishment of RCEs. They can’t take control and then deny accountability.
No code of conduct alteration will fix the fact that schools are not staffed appropriately, and regional centres for education need to be held to account for repeatedly failing to prevent violence against staff and students.
The NDP aren't going to magically break through outside of HRM just because it would be nice. Or because at this moment many of your friends & like-minded folks are pissed off with Houston.
A whole lot of other people still think he's doing all the right things. THOSE are the ones you have to reach

I live in Pictou County. The PCs could run literally anyone up here and have a decent shot. Meanwhile, there’s next to no industry, no jobs, no affordable housing, long waits for healthcare, and plenty of drugs and crime. Our community needs progressive leadership from within to stand up.
