If @germany.diplo.de and like-minded Europeans have any remaining ambition to build bridges in multilateral disarmament regimes, they must support efforts that matter to so-called Global South, including investigation by @who.int into effects of nuclear war on health (services).

Several countries on the Eastern Flank of NATO are considering leaving the Ottawa Treaty, which bans anti-personnel mines.
Yesterday, Finland and Poland both announced their intentions to leave the treaty in the coming weeks.
First time I have seen the EU use the phrase "likeminded NATO partners" and explicitly address this group, including the UK, Norway, Canada and also Turkey.
Note this implicitly excludes the US from being a likeminded NATO partner.

Today wraps up my Autumn teaching for Understanding International Politics and had to take a snap of this - a student who has happily thumbed, spilled and ripped their copy of my textbook over the course of the semester! Happier seeing this than any pristine copy on the library shelf! 😊🙏🏻🎉
#StormBert has much to answer for.
