That logo looks AI as fuck (what is that kerning??) and so do the characters in the official promotional render. What are the chances the designs stealing from fan designs were generated as well? All generative AI is doing is pulling from other sources. They probly just stole them directly.
And if the criticism is to respect the original's designers work, I don't know how to explain to someone that TPC's awful consumer practices, sucking people into playing predatory mobile games full of micro-transactions because it has Pikachu in it does THE EXACT OPPOSITE
If the issue is that they're stealing designs from fans- that's the most valid criticism here. I encourage more companies to rip off The Pokemon Company and Nintendo, it'll never eat at their profits: the thing being centered in a criticism about "ripoffs". Pokemon doesn't exist in a vacuum.
