Busy morning at the Capitol followed by a gorgeous afternoon on the doors with this guy!

When the Legislature sweeps cash funds at the Governor’s request for purposes they were never meant to serve, it hurts public trust, and Nebraskans end up paying the price.

Every year we love making time to speak with Civic Leadership fellows from Omaha. This year’s cohort is so impressive and we can’t wait to see what their futures hold. Senator Hunt and Senator Fredrickson are cheering for you!

It still surprises me when colleagues talk about being a “team player” - even when it doesn’t actually help the people they represent.

Our job in the Nebraska Legislature is to stand up for our constituents, not industry. I’ll keep showing up and fighting for everyday Nebraskans.

LB258 says young workers are worth less and voters’ voices don’t matter. Costs are rising. We must listen and ensure wages keep up.

As #NEleg debates policy impacting students with disabilities, rhetoric matters.

The Governor’s use of outdated, derogatory language reflects the same disregard behind cuts to A&D waivers and autism services.

Nebraska can do better. Words matter. Policy matters. People matter.

Last session, I passed a bill creating ‘Home of Arbor Day’ license plates - proceeds go directly to tree planting and conservation efforts here in Nebraska 🌲

✅ Appropriate funding back to Federally Qualified Community Health Centers
✅ Place limits on copays to lessen out-of-pocket costs for Medicaid patients
