The California Coastal Commission approved the permit authorizing the closure of Upper Great Highway to private car traffic (aka converting the space into a park and public outdoor recreation space)!

This is a massive step towards the creation a new, full-time oceanfront park 👏

Great Highway Park opponents said, “Put it to the voters…let the voters decide,” but changed their mind when the voters overwhelmingly voted to transform Upper Great Highway into a full-time, oceanfront park by approving Prop K.

The voters have spoken—it’s time to move forward.
