Yes! Oklas has encountered a convecorpra, a composite creature that is predominantly made of plants. They aren't alive in the usual sense, but animated by a kind of magic. Who knows if the MCs will meet more...

Sweet but tangy. They're also called sweetstingers. The "talon" part of the name is from their curved claw-like appearance.

Day 6: Farming

In my latest book, we get to learn more about a plant that goes by a few names – one of them is "sugar talons". They're a kind of cactus fruit that resembles a dragonfruit. We may even see where they're grown.

Day 5: Risks in WIP

Prismer takes a risk trying to obtain information that could be valuable. It's in a secure part of the Assembly Chambers, and she may be watched.

I liked your point about revealing only what is necessary in each chapter. It rewards a reader for their patience and builds anticipation. I liken it to visiting a foreign country. You can read a summary about a place, but isn't it better to experience it for yourself?

Day 5: Plants used in Healing

Some of the beings in Knyadrea are prone to gill infections. A topical decongestant made from a herbal infusion is mentioned quite early in OWU, but I don't believe I listed the ingredients anywhere.

Day 4: Unique Fungi

Yes, there is a kind of fungus that grows near resyn basins. Resyn is a mystical substance that also acts as a power source in Knyadrea. An important part of OWU (Book 2) is the characters identifying the fungus, and learning about its properties.

These are amazing!

Glad you caught it early. She's a lucky pup to have such an attentive mom. I haven't heard of Valley Fever, but it sounds horrible!

Day 3: Lies or Rumours

Oklas meets an older character who had ties to Emis back in the day. There are things about her that bother him, though.

Day 2: Unique flowers

I have steeping flowers, which make a herbal tea. Then 2 new species of lilies appear in Our Ways Unmasked. One is edible. The other is almost the height of the knyad characters and it unfurls like a scroll.
