I'm going to go off the beaten path and offer you up mostly English, non-arthouse films: For All Mankind - Immersive NASA footage that you'll see no where else (In 4K now). If you're looking to feel what it was like in the late 60s and early 70s when these giant rockets were sent to the moon, you can't do much better than this. Weekend - A classic, intimate, believeable gay love story that starts with a one night stand that becomes more with a couple guys that have a bit of a yin/yang perspective on life as they decide where things are going. It is well worth the watch. Streetwise - What led to the grunge movement in Seattle? This doc on unhoused youth in that city in the 80s is a must see as it follows the lives of several of these kids. Time Bandits - Some of Terry Gilliam's best absurdist material that takes you on a tour of history and has Sean Connery as well.

Altered States - The movie that had us all wanting to get isolation tanks so we might come out transformed into our feral core selves A History of Violence - Maybe the most approachable Cronenberg and with Viggo as the every day man with an unknown dark history who finds himself being pulled back into it and how he handles it, it's a great film. It's weakest link is the someone who shoes up late in the film. If they had Eastern Promises though, I'd pick that over this. Eyes Wide Shut - Simply Kubrick shooting a film that may be more topical today than it was known to be when it came out. And since they've uncensored the theatrical version, all the better. Man Bites Dog - It's just a good black comedy about a serial killer and the mocumentary film crew that follows him around, shot in grimy black and white. If you can laugh at comedic tragedy, and enjoy series like Dexter's early seasons, you might love this.
