Back in SFO and on the traditional hunt for a drink with a closeable lid that isn't water.
This gets harder every time I visit.

Every time I think I understand I AM on AWS it surprises me in novel but completely predictable ways.
What part is predictable about it? The pain and frustration.
Turns out this is likely a health insurance thing
Has anyone figured out why Conduent has our health insurance, ssn, and other details to begin with?
I can't figure out where they fit into the service provider hierarchy.
The Chick-Fil-A in IAD is so bad I am dangerously close to building an #atproto local reviews app to ensure my review is as decentralized as possible.
A brief retrospective on some of the challenges Concerto 2 ran into -

In what year can we stop offering the setting to pick between light mode, dark mode, system mode?
I find this pattern of repeating a system setting into your app fascinating. If enough users expected per-app overrides, the OS would provide.
Angular: my inner Googler is deeply satisfied.
Vue: okay, I can see why the cool kids use this stuff.
Nuxt: who brought the drugs.
Photo of a muffin on a plate on a clear plastic food cover in a microwave.
This is how we all use these microwave lids 90% of the time, right?
I am always jealous when I read a blogpost with excellent typography.
It guarantees I'll scroll down at least once.
Thanks! That was exactly what I was looking for πππ
Hrm, I'm having trouble spotting any. Can you point me to an example?
(fwiw, as a Secaucus Junction commuter I don't have line affinity and mentally merge all these schedules together)
@customeradvocate.bsky.social perhaps this is a silly question, but when we're single tracking near the portal bridge from 2/15 - 3/15, have the planner folks considered running MetLife-style shuttle trains between NYP and SEC?

Will 2026 be the year I learn enough native mobile stuff to finally use the tailscale sdk in flutter?
Probably not.
But maybe I can finally convince an LLM to do it for me.
If you're following me because you're interested in Concerto Signage:

I am surprised how uninterested OVH is in retaining me as a customer.
As a resident of the town that is data center capital of New Jersey aka "NYC metro", I think we should get discounted colo space.
If parking lots around New Jersey Transit stations are any indicator, Saturday was the busiest day in the city post-Covid.
A flyer from the Brian P. Stack civic association announcing a toy giveaway with Secaucus Mayor Michael Gonnelli.
I feel like this is the official start of Brian Stack's takeover of Secaucus.
New England has the best public access TV channels.

Alternatively, if you know a hotline to get Xfinity to reactivate a CableCARD I'd be very grateful
After 13 solid years, my partner's TiVo Bolt finally died. The replacement options are disappointing.
* Xfinity TV Box + DVR: $22/mo
* Channels HD + praying that "TV Everywhere" works: $8/mo
* Switch to YouTube TV, saving $20/month, but loose access to a few channels
Any recommendations?

One of the most satisfying feelings of Rails development is successfully upgrading your app to the next release of Rails.
There's no guarantee it's going to go smoothly, it feels like a litmus test for adherence to The Rails Way.
Just landed 8->8.1 for Concerto

new nas, who dis?
It's so cute. Someone from Tailscale's sales team is trying to sell me on Tailscale.
In a personal capacity, I've already been using it since 2020.
In a corporate capacity, replacing BeyondCorp @ Google with Tailscale feels a bit too ambitious.
