Last call for the Rideau Canal Skateway! 📞⛸
After an amazing 56 days on the ice and more than one million visits, the time has come to say goodbye. The Rideau Canal Skateway will close tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4, at 10 pm.

The Skateway will reopen at 8 am tomorrow, Wednesday, February 18.
The break helped protect the ice from today's warm spell. Our crews will take advantage of the cold overnight.

This measure is a precaution that will preserve the ice surface during the warm spell and should allow us to quickly reopen the Skateway as soon as conditions permit.

ICE UPDATE | Temporary closure
The Rideau Canal Skateway will temporarily close starting this evening, due to the warmer temperatures.
⛔ Full closure as of 10 pm on Monday, February 16.

While everyone’s perfect day varies a little… Bruce knows exactly what his is.
A few easy ways to make Bruce smile:
✅ Sort your trash into the right bins
✅ Wear safety equipment and watch for cracks and bumps on the ice
✅ Follow the rules
As a safety precaution, access to the Rideau Canal Skateway under the Bronson Bridge is limited to allow the City of Ottawa to inspect its structure.
Please plan your visit accordingly. Thank you for your collaboration.
