Didn't win, most of the judges didn't even try it, definitely feel like I could've placed if they did. Sucks.

I ended up pivoting btw, here's what I submitted instead:

current progress for the s&box techjam :)
I'm makin' a little city sim game!
Having a lot of fun figuring all these interactions with hand tracking out.
This is day 3.

Shorts are surprisingly really good for revenue, it's weird because it's so easy to make throwaway content like that
Apparently Youtube Shorts can now be up to 3 minutes so these are shorts now! :)

Having fun doing these daily challenges, will probably keep it up for a bit, curious to see what tomorrow's one will be.
The center of mass on some of these makes NO sense, which is part of the fun really.

Sorta! Each cloud model has Metadata you can access and read before download their "package".
It doesn't appear to have polycount as part of that meta data at the moment though.
But sorting by popularity and ratings, as well as "style" can be part of the search filter yeah.
Since it just rolled over past midnight here I also got to try today/tomorrow's prop selection.
Recording directly from in-headset is pretty nice.
S&box provides API for built in leaderboards and lets you query and fetch assets off their cloud system, I search for props by size and collision model so I only fetch things I can turn into physics props without them being massive. It's really nice!
Quick little stacking I game made in s&box in a couple hours, it loads random models off the s&box cloud (user created models uploaded to it) and selects them based on a daily seed so there's a leaderboard in too!
Added a new model to ride
In s&box you'd be able to hook it up to microphone output.... just saying
Yeah no, its default position is correct but if you rotate the bone it's not offset correctly it's just centered
Ah dang, the wheel joints aren't centered on the actual rotation points of the wheel swivels! Could that be fixed?
I'd have to do some really weird offsetting in code to correct for it if not...
Yeah I have yet to hook up the bones! You'd definitely notice the wheels going in the right direction so I do want to get that in haha.
part 2
Some first person action #VR #S&Box
Been doing some dumb stuff in s&box VR again!
By refused to track I do mean refused, it would only let me use it in travel mode where you can't actually have a room setup, which breaks any mixed reality app.
Regular games still work in that mode for some reason, despite it communicating as if it can't track at all and generally making you 3dof.
Dude I wanted to put my parents in that but the fuckin headset refused to track- later found out some setting about remembering the playspace was turned on that made it unable to re-scan rooms if it didn't already know them?
Really weird that shit was on by default for me.
The editor tooling in @sbox.bsky.social is really straightforward, I feel like it's even more flexible than Unity at the moment.
Here's a couple sliders and things I tweak in the video that live-updates.
Here's a spooky web tool I made for Micro Mayhem's Halloween update!
variety of pumpkin models in micro mayhem hub
We've put out our Halloween Update for Micro Mayhem!

I got a Quest 3 a few days ago, will see how nice that works doing PCVR dev...
Hate it when that word pops up after a long modelling session...
And part 2: (man this 1 minute limit sucks...)
