Somerville will receive funding from MassDOT for its Western Pearl St. reconstruction as part of MassDOT's Complete Streets Funding Program. The project includes a one-way protected bike lane along with pedestrian and transit improvements.

The Elm-Beacon Connector project has been delayed a bit, with the final design now due in April, and work to begin in summer and end in fall. The city plans to add a raised crosswalk near the Kennedy school and an accessible curb ramp at Elm & Beech streets:
