Driving into Manhattan can be hell. But thanks to congestion pricing, morning commutes are getting faster:
The great thing about solar energy is you donβt have to invade another country to access sun reserves.
Despite all the pundit and pol handwringing about climate being an issue that only elites care about, the polling says otherwise. Climate can and will be a political winner - *if* candidates and elected officials can put forward a cogent plan for addressing it alongside energy affordability and jobs
Candidates for office would be wise to look at the opinion shifts among young men 18-29, a demographic that moved heavily towards Trump and MAGA in 2024. Climate is among the issues over which young men disagree *the most* with MAGA -- a potential wedge issue in the next election. 3/4
Another common refrain we hear from elected officials, consultants and pundits is that voters are angry about affordability, and climate runs counter to that. Well, the same @yaleclimatecomm.bsky.social poll shows that a majority of voters (65%) believe climate is affecting their cost of living 2/4
Too many politicians believe talking about climate change is a political loser. But the numbers tell a different story. A recent @yaleclimatecomm.bsky.social poll shows that a majority of voters want *more* action on climate climatecommunication.yale.edu/app/uploads/... 1/4
So far the Trump administration has killed or delayed more than 12.5 GW of offshore wind projects that are *already under construction*
Thatβs enough electricity to power 5 million homes. All this while household utility bills are skyrocketing.

Hot take: itβs good to listen to folks who know WTF they are talking about, and ignore charlatan pundits who donβt.
π¨ A court just said the EPA must stop blocking the investments from our Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.
We created this program to support innovation that spurs good-paying jobs & lowers costs for Americans. EPA's attempts to clawback these investments are illegal.
This piece from @npr.org about my friend (and former diplomat) Wren Elhai speaks to the costs of the current adminβs βburn the house downβ approach to governance. Wren is a brilliant, humble, and committed public servant - and a killer fiddle player too π» www.npr.org/2025/12/12/n...
My friend Brad is the real deal. Heβs an organizer, policy wonk, and mensch. We need his moral voice in Congress. Pitch in here: secure.actblue.com/donate/lande...

You know all about the Chinese solar boom but you haven't seen anything yet
Here comes the battery boom, and it is going to be big π€―
This whole thread.
In a different universe, weβd be opening one of these plants every 6 months.
A good antidote to a bad NYT piece.
Climate change is a kitchen table issue. If rising waters and storm recovery costs donβt hit you, skyrocketing insurance premiums will.
Congrats, Mark!
Oh, and @bradlander.bsky.social delivered great returns for NYC cops, firefighters, teachers and city employees on their pensions!
@bradlander.bsky.social is one of the best NYC Comptrollers in recent memory. Audited all sorts of city agencies doing bad stuff; engaged in muscular shareholder advocacy; took Wall Street to task; used the bully pulpit. @marklevinenyc.bsky.social has big shoes to fill, but I believe in him!

Why are electricity costs, food prices, and healthcare rising?
b/c billionaires have dumped pollution into the air for decades, gouging us on groceries & utility bills while we all pay the price.
The ultra rich should pay their fair share and clean up the atmosphere so the rest of us can thrive.
But running away from connecting the dots for voters (ie fossil fuel emissions >> climate change >> higher costs and suffering) only leaves a vacuum for bad actors to peddle mis- and dis-information.
When we fail to forcefully connect the dots and offer real solutions, we lose. Thatβs the lesson.
This new obsession w/ banishing βclimate doom and gloomβ from political messaging really feels like standard-issue left-bashing.
Smart climate comms ppl have known for yrs that leading with co-benefits is key. Thatβs why weβve consistently talked about jobs, affordability, Econ dev, and health.
The Trump admin calls this kind of talk βclimate change religion.β With all the foreign aid and climate funding cuts, we Americans at least owe Jamaicans all the prayers we can spare as #Melissa comes barreling down.
Today in things that make me crazy: Political consultants consistently call climate change a βculturalβ issue when itβs projected to wipe out nearly a quarter of the global economy. Tell me again how climate isnβt a kitchen table issue? www.thecooldown.com/green-busine...
