so much about the current system is based on rich guys 300 years ago wanting to maintain some sort of weird exclusive club

surely there's a better way to show I know something than writing 3+ research papers a week
those tools that start you off with a quiz, then focus on teaching the stuff you got wrong until you get it right, do a much better job
