Ideas: Babies born limb by limb, torso, and then the head. Mom needs to assemble IKEA style.
Ideas(1): The friction of life
Hey, they can't all be home runs.

Happy Birthday to Dadaist author, K. Ungeheuer who would have been 118 years old today! If you like short, weird horror which one reviewer described as "Kafka's Meditations meets Poe in the throes of opium," check out Ungeheuer's collected works. cockroach.org
a meme split in two parts. The top part reads "What Paul Atreides looks like in the movie:". Next to this is a photo of TimothΓ©e Chalamet. The bottom part reads "What Paul Atreides looks like in the book:". Next to this are simply the words "Paul Atreides"
I mean they're not wrong...
Her memorial to Stanley is very sweet (and I still listen to the Clockwork Orange ST)

Just guessing here, but was it the DAS Bookbinding series on YT? π
I love the idea of binding your own stories, zines, novel(las, ettes), etc. Giving words a very special treatment.
Here's a good (and basic) tutorial with lots of pictures and no narration: thepostmansknock.com/bookbinding-...
Snowsky Echo Mini Lossless audio player. It's styled like an old school 1980's walkman with animation showing a cassette in the middle. Also included are a pair of Bluetooth headphones also styled to look like 80's Sony headphones with the orange foam ear covers.
Snowsky Echo Mini Lossless audio player held up to show the size. Approximately 2" x 3" x 0.5"
Snowsky Echo Mini Lossless audio player powered off, showing the control buttons and a ring lanyard that doubles as a stand
My new lossless music player reminding me of high school. Dual HiFi DAC processors. Works with Bluetooth (like my retro Sony earphones), 3.5 and 4.4 mm wired jacks. It supports up to 256GB via microSD and can act as a sound amplifier for any computer or phone.
All for under $100

A start on a new story
"A gust of wind cleared some of the clouds. It took a moment until Coraline could process the sight. Odd faint patterns of ridges and swirls on the underside of pink flesh. It wasnβt until she saw the hard rough edge of the nail that she realized it was a finger tip."
We keep on calling ICE the Gestapo and trump Hitler, and they are, but never forget who taught those fascists how to demonize an entire population

Writing has become my space to refill my cup when the world around us takes so much emotional (and physical) energy.
If you long to write but find yourself doom scrolling and feeling helpless, this article from @timwaggoner.bsky.social is for you.
Every time I see it, you know we have to talk about itβ¦

And it's never too late. I'm 56, and only picked writing back up four years ago after abandoning it in my 20s.
I published my first book of flash fiction a year later and just finished an 8600 word short story. After decades of regret and frustration, the joy it brings me is incomparable.
Fun review of my first book, THE OCCULTISTS on Kelly Book Stuff. (Is it weird that I read her blog as βKelly Butt Stuffβ?) But seriously, itβs a great review. Thank you, Kelly.

Happy New Year @dzgrizzle.bsky.social
A photo of a hippo with the caption: "I am not a toy. I am not a Christmas present. I am a 3,000-pound, semiaquatic liability. Please think hard before gifting a hippopotamus this Christmas."
Please. It's a life, not a gift!
Parker @panoparker Parents: Kids are more depressed these days, I wonder why? Kids: You destroyed the economy for us, the earth is literally dying, we are going to work until we die and on top of that the Nazis are back. Parents: It's those pesky iPhones
