Telling Jesus he'll never make it if he keeps being so hostile to wealth. Advising him to moderate his message to appeal to the Galilee suburbs
My mom was both a girl mom and a boy mom, and my dad was both a girl dad and a boy dad, which at the time we called “parents”

Today I did what every unemployed person eventually does: I started playing Skyrim again
I will always be more impressed by a mediocre stunt than a VFX extravaganza because someone actually physically *did* it. You can't fake a body moving through space; the weight and heft and physics of it, the innate humanness of the body in motion; it always hits harder than "big blue CG laser."
You don't have to love all of these movies, but you do have to understand that a studio that makes Sinners and One Battle and Mickey 17 and Wuthering Heights and The Bride and Weapons grasps its responsibility to filmmaking and its own history and tradition in a way that David Ellison does not.
Oh man, HALT AND CATCH FIRE is so good. Starts great and blossoms into even greater.
Something I like to do periodically is reshare this piece about Zaslav by @jasondashbailey.com that GQ published only to subsequently delete and disavow when the titular whiny shithead complained. May his kind never know rest. archive.is/2023.07.03-1...

I need to watch this.
The guys on the Odyssey had no way to describe their journey
When we talk about Baby Boomers not getting off the stage: In 1997, the US president was born in 1946.
In 2007, the US president was born in 1946.
In 2017, the US president was born in 1946.
And next year in 2027? The US president will have been born in 1946.
27 seasons of SVU and the greatest thing they have ever done is briefly show the ADA wearing the jersey from the unit’s otherwise unmentioned rec league softball team
A functional country would yeet polymarket and kalshi into the sun
Have had this on Kindle for a minute but haven’t gotten to it yet
We should have executed Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee, is where this got off track
Got a hunch I’ll dig this

things every single republican president of your lifetime has done
- started a war in the middle east
- completely destroyed the economy
I like a lot of what Crockett does but I find her ragebait annoying (referring to a paraplegic as Hot Wheels is just a mean and shitty thing to do, plus it diminishes the actual evil of the guy and makes you look bad, and I can’t believe you found a way to make Greg Abbott sympathetic but you did)
The poster for the Sean Connery movie OUTLAND, featuring the tagline “On Jupiter’s moon he’s the only law,” a sentence so badass that you immediately want to know more.
Find me a modern tagline half this good
What's depressing about the current state of mainstream moviemaking isn't just that it's all about deep-throating IP; it's that even when audiences roundly reject bullshit IP plays, studios keep making them because they have no other fucking ideas www.darkhorizons.com/sony-confirm...
You ever just rewatch THE INSIDER and think “this is the best movie”
