Pierre Poilievre should respect the clear decision of Canadian voters who chose not to re-elect him and vacate Stornoway. Taxpayers should not be paying for a politician who no longer holds office, as doing so contradicts principles of fiscal responsibility and the appropriate use of public funds.

What if we used our existing land in better ways? What if we maintained green space and agricultural land for growing food to support farmers and provide food security? What if that was part of the solution to climate change? We know the answers; politically we’re not looking at the long game.
When suburban development looks to expand into floodplains or farmland that is meant to help control, flooding and stormwater, even if it’s re-engineered to pretend it’s safe, eventually nature will have its way. And those homeowners are then stuck in society has to step in and pick up the cost. 1/
