This spot illustration became my secret fave of the batch. My pitch for this was to show the mixing of cultures thru time in Rivain with an old, overgrown statue sitting in the shadow of a banner from Antaam invaders.
And man, I just love drawing foliage.

Illustration depicts an embalming performed by Myrna and Vorgoth under the supervision of a spirit wearing a large, jeweled headdress. The body on the embalming table is shrouded in cloth that wraps around its face, across its shoulder, and around its hips (dignity matters). Half of the body is shown as cleaned bones, which Myrna is lovingly adorning with gold jewelry. The other half is shown as musculature. Vorgoth has his left hand resting on the abdomen, and has his ceremonial knife raised in his right. There's a green light that is glowing from within the rib cage of the embalmed, that can also be seen in the eyes, shining through the shroud. The figures are lit by an auditorium of large candles that encircle them. Canopic jars dot the ground beneath the table - which has beetle-like legs and horned appendages.

I LIVE. Mostly. The past 6 months have been like falling down the stairs. One thing I can say for certain is that I'm so SO honored to have been able to work with the @worldofthedaszine.bsky.social crew on the latest zine!

A tarot-ish styled illustration depicting Johanna Hezenkoss from Dragon Age: The Veilguard. At the top of the illustration, she appears as her young self depicted from the waist-up flanked by a graphic representation of her fashionable goggles and backed by the symbol that appears on the Nevarran crest. In reverse at the bottom of the illustration she appears as she does in game, however, she is in contrast backed by the crest and eye sockets of her bone colossus. At the center of the illustration, both figures are holding the gloaming lantern which crackles with green and deep purple energy.

This design was a lot of fun to work on! It's crazy looking back on the first few DA character spots I did (2017??) to see how far I've come. 👀

I didn't know if this one was gonna end up in the Rivain chapter or the recipes chapter, but either way, proud of how yummy this soup looks. I even hid a tiny fish head in there as a nod to the recipe illustrations in the original World of Thedas book!

One of the pieces I made for @worldofthedaszine.bsky.social! The concept was a Lord of Fortune painting a mural above a massive treasure pit and man, this one kicked my ass. I'm not much of a painter imo, but I'm happy with the end product here!

After months of hard work from our contributors and the mod team, we are happy to announce that the World of Thedas vol. 3 Fanbook Project will be released on December 4th! +

When I touched the carving, it conjured a memory of some professorial looking folks in a heated debate. “We can't yet prove for certain that what Gallus witnessed was in fact the spirit of cat, a spirit manifesting in the shape of a cat, or an enchantment cast by one of those spirits because they thought they ought to have cats like we of the material world—but this is going to reopen that whole metaphysical and theological debate on whether or not animals have souls again. Please don't go telling your children that the spirit of their beloved deceased kitten is living in the Crossroads just yet. This was probably my last addition, when I felt deeply compelled to acknowledge the spirit kitties. 🐈‍⬛

A letter written on textured paper that reads: ‘Tis wild, isn’t it? How fast things can change… I still remember how drear and gloamy the Crossroads looked when I was a child, filled with heavy fog and heavier silence. Now, it feels like spring has come along and stirred the whole place out of the deep hibernation it was in. The fog has lifted and been replaced with splashes of color and brilliance I’ve never seen whilst awake—except in the finest Serault glass, when the light streams though it just so. Here, now, the whole sky could be cut from the finest wares that the Glassworks ever made. I swear! When the elves said they could see all the colors in the Crossroads, I always wished I could see as they did—but today, I think, perhaps, I caught a glimpse of their view. I should ask Strife and Irelin about it! Do things look different to them, too? Or am I just sensitive to the surges of strange, potent magic that have been happening more frequently of late…?

‘Tis marvelous to witness! The way water often spirals skyward here, sometimes taking fish to swim amongst the clouds, or how the earth can be shaped into stairs and bridges in a matter of seconds. It certainly seems to take much less time to traverse the world of late. Is that the work of the Caretaker spirits? I have so many questions for them, too, but they never seem to give me a straight answer. (Reminds me of someone else I know, actually...) By the way, I tracked down what you were looking for! I will bring it back to the Veil Jumpers’ camp as soon as I finish exploring these ruins. ‘Twould be a shame to rush and miss some crucial detail. See you soon, “K”
