Inside Out: Dignity and the Art of Seeing gives an in-depth look at the lives of incarcerated men. The exhibit, closing tonight with a 6 p.m. reception, contains photographs, videos, and more from the Arts in Prison program done at the shuttered Lorton Reformatory.

I'm also thinking about the continuation of surveillance. How ICE agents, Border Patrol, Police, etc... are constantly using new technology to surveillance people. And how the work of the artists and people alike must never stop. As new surveillance tech is being created, so must be the art, π, π₯
Last year for my artist-in-residence at NJCU (New Jersey City University) at did a talk about surveillance and art: From slave patrol to CCTV. And how artists of color used their artwork to fight and change the narrative.
As I reflect on that work, and the work of many others.
