I don’t even want an alliance, I just want to cuddle a birb once.
Couple of memes I made about the Stardew announcement today (note: I am actually pumped but still the reaction to Clint is hilarious.)
I can’t be the only one who finds it ironic that Apple is making the Neuromancer series, right?
(Sigh) 3 years, not 6 years…
Starting book 6 of Rise of the Runelords today! Game’s been running almost 6 years!
I want a Golarion Cookbook.

I have a few game groups in my life, but most of them are either already engaged with a game I'm running/am in, or have deep lack of interest in the games I want to run.
Which is fine, not everyone needs to be into the same stuff, it's just, finding the time and people to try these other games...
It's frustrating being excited for the idea of a real Sandbox Fallout game, exploring settlement management and such, or a long-term SMT trpg game, or even a "faction war" Kaer Maga game using Savage Worlds Pathfinder.
And knowing, like, they just WON'T happen.
On the other hand, I feel like I'm the only person in my regular gaming groups that *feel* this way. Most people want to try recognizable games, or don't want to do long games with the systems I'd love to dive deeper into, games that NEED time to explore the varied systems, and don't work as 1-shots
I'm sitting at a kind of mild crossroads with my ttrpg association.
On one hand, I LOVE collecting and examining various ttrpgs. I adore trying new systems, and I mean giving them a full try, like minimum 6-session mini arcs, etc. It sparks joy to explore worlds that "function" differently.

Live action Gurren Lagan, but Bad Bunny is a Kamina (also Kamina doesn’t die.) ;)
So, it's not that Fallout is a bad game, it's a fantastic one, but like with a TON of other ttrpgs, know what kind of job that tool is good for, and be ready to adjust if it's not vibing with your group.
So what kind of group/game is Fallout good for? Well, if you have a group that loves the CRUNCH of a ttrpg, Fallout is great. Get a group together, plan a long story, or just make it a sandbox settlement building adventure.
Between survival, crafting and hell, power armor, there's a lot to track.
You can come up with your own system of tracking it, sure, but the different scales/timelines on when you get hungry and thirsty, you need like specialized tracking charts. It can be exhausting if you don't have players who want/are able to keep up with it.
Additionally, though I don't care for this one as much, the food/water mechanics, meant to really drive home the survival vibes of Fallout, are just kinda clunky and require a lot of bookkeeping (a trait of this game overall) that I think can be challenging to do.
Partially because of the investment required, partially because of the time it takes to make sure you have the appropriate feats, junk, and time to cobble together your custom item.
I's a really cool feature that just, doesn't get to be used in many of the games I've run.
However, imho it is not a great system for one-shots, or for players who are VERY new to ttrpgs.
Unless of course you're willing to just NOT engage with some of the game's systems.
First and foremost, the game has a robust equipment customization system, that just, doesn't shine in a one-shot.
The Fallout game from Modiphius is a lot of fun. The 2d20 system is great, and allows for some cool player engagement in the game side of the system.
Action points and the myriad of ways the system can use them, and how it's a constantly fluctuating pool of resources is real exciting.
I've been ruminating over some ttrpgs I love, but recognize there's issues with.
Fallout being one of them.
This will be a thread lol.
Running a #Fallout #2d20 game (by @modiphius.bsky.social ) today, and made a Sunset Sarsparilla pie!
Just arrived!!!!!!
... then they'd lose him as a character.
Further, Centaurs are an amalgam of animals and people fused together through FEV exposure. Thaddeus doesn't seem to have approached it like that.
Just musing a bit.
See, the thing is, one of four things is happening:
Ghoul, Super Mutant, Centaur, or Other.
I'm in camp "Other".
The reason being, for him to become one of the other ones, it would involve changing more about the world. Which is fine, but unless they make him a talkin' centaur...
