While watching another beautiful NM sunset, following a day of learning about horrible SNAP and WIC budget cuts, I watched this guard honorably, diligently take down the American flag for the night. It felt poignant - the sunsetting on our security and social safety nets.
Love this! I tried logging on again 15 years ago (?) and got stuck in the broom closet. To be fair, my IRL bedroom now looks almost exactly as my character's room 33 years ago. I'll take it.

I spent the last two days in a conference learning about the anticpated, soon-to-be-realized impacts of the SNAP and WIC cuts. They are devastating. Combined with the cuts to Medicare, they may be insurmountable. GOP calculus that hungry, sick people won't fight back is going to be their downfall.

As an American of Honduran descent, I dislike Hillary because of her alignment with Kissinger, and validation of the coup against Zelaya by criminals. But I still voted for her in the general because by that point, my vote is transactional, and Trump was a horrible option.

Nope! My bestie since college and I are flying out for my birthday weekend. (Although, tbh, not thrilled to be flying - especially to FL - at the moment).
Having made that I-10 drive countless times, whole crew in tow, I empathized with your pain. This trip feels decadent in comparison.
