So glad there is a weekly open mic in my county (and another one every month in warm weather). Tho I was too tired to play tonight. It's cool seeing regular friendly faces. Similar things when I visit Long Beach, California. Also twitter spaces back in 2021-22.

Tho i want a progressive to win the White House in 2028. There is a non-zero chance they could sell out and just become part of the establishment. We really need well checked and balanced national ballot measures imo. But a lot probably will happen between now and even 2027.

I could be wrong. And there isn't any potential Dem 2028 candidate I am excited about. But if the centrists try to stop the progressives. By making South Carolina the first primary. Thinking if the progressives spend time and resources in other early states instead. Might work?

In about a month in the northern hemisphere and in places up here not affected by drought: grass mowing and other lawn care will start.

For sure looking forward to spending more time with friends and family. And going to affordable or even free comedy and music shows within walking distance. The beach is only 1 mile away as well. And when I visit, I'm a regular at a few places also within walking distance.

Pretty excited. In May-June, will be staying about a month with family and friends in Long Beach, California. If things don't go sideways in the country by then, may also meet in person all the way from the UK, my good friend @lynrajahmusician.bsky.social

Daylight savings time starts in a week. And a lot of warmer than usual days forecasted. I have an offline friend I been walking with for a year now. And I also walk a lot while listening to music. Good way to get in shape. And less time looking at screens.

For sure wish more coffee shops were open late or 24/7. If want to sleep that night, get decaf. Not being an alcohol drinker in a bar/club and being surrounded by people who are drinking. Just feels awkward. Guess different if music/comedy, etc. Were also going on.

Something I think i lost i had in the 2000s and 2010s: when i went out in public, even alone. I was overall pretty good at striking up conversations with people. And getting numbers/becoming social media mutuals/making new friends. Maybe it was covid and tech. Or getting older.

At the local night club. Tho I don't drink alcohol. I am a regular here. I know some of the bartenders, security and other regulars. I mostly just read the news and other posts on my phone if I didn't come with someone else. Offline friends are tired or busy tonight. Just chillin

For sure hope every country has war referendums (unless actually invaded). So the people can decide whether they want to go to war or not. Instead of the poor always fighting wars for the rich.

Thinking of restarting my physical CD and DVD collection.

In 2 days it will be March. Next weekend will be the beginning of daylight savings time. And in about 3 weeks it will be Spring. We are almost there!

Tho got held up at the doctor's office today. Eventually made it to the venue to help set up an open mic. Tho postponed again till next week cuz feeling sluggish/fatigued again. Gave the person putting it on a ride home. Ive been sleeping. So thinking it's meds side effects.

Feels kinda weird but also exciting: next week or the week after. Planning on performing a new original song i also don't plan on posting online. Strictly word of mouth (or if someone else records and posts it).

For sure really appreciate the support and kindness of online music communities over the years. Just thinking because of AI stealing artist's work. Of no longer posting original music online. For sure planning on still doing open mics and writing/composing. Just protection.

Had a good talk with my mom about local 1960s-1980s Detroit TV show hosts/hostesses. I think more independent. Or not as corporate.

Hyped. Got a full chord progression and riff for a planned St. Patrick's Day song. Currently titled 'Seen Green'. Just need to write lyrics, re-record the instrumental in a DAW. And commission the singer. Probably will release it St. Paddy's Day, March 17th. May play it live, too

While I did help the people and bar running the open mic set up earlier today for tonight. Past few hours been feeling fatigued. So may have to wait till next week to play again. My medication creates a roller coaster of energy and sluggishness. I wish more public transit/walking

There have been really cold and snowy winters. There have been more mild and warm winters. But I think this may be one of the first winters in a while with both. Starting in late November it got cold and snowy. Then a few weeks later, warm. Then mid-January cold again. Then a few weeks later, warm..

The late 00s-2010s mainstream indie/pop/hip hop/rock music genres have their own sound. Compared to earlier decades. I mean I like earlier decades' music better. The late 00s-2010s overall in my opinion just too bland and generic.

NGC 2403. About 8 million light years away. This light took 8 million years to reach us. For all we know, some of these stars may have had a supernova already.

Planning on either doing both an open mic tomorrow night in nearby Port Clinton. And another one in also nearby Clyde Thursday night. And maybe even one this Sunday in a few towns away, Norwalk. 3 open mics in a week. Gonna be 4 when it gets warmer. Working on new music as well.

Some of tonight is forecasted to be clear. I didn't sleep last night so will be staying in and doing astrophotography. Got till March 8th till the nights get extra shorter cuz daylight savings time starts again. And it shouldn't be too cold for my smart telescope to work tonight.

Always like hearing about past local locations for open mic/jam nights. Heard there was one within walking distance of my home. But it closed down when I was 17 (may have even been 21 to get in). I guess liking history and music makes you interested in past local music scenes.
