To me, lack of mental healthcare that is available, affordable, & socially acceptable underlines all of this. You say AI is useful because a lot of these issues come up at night. I agree. But we have 24hr clinics & ERs for physical health, & we should we have the same for mental health.

I agree. My issue with this discussion is that I just think it's focused on the wrong thing. I don't think as many of the stories in the press would have happened if the AI had been able to (at the right time) refer people to a professional & that not be an impossible task with US healthcare.

I know as an alumni I'm a biased homer, but the MTSU- FIU game tonight had the absolute worst officiating I've seen in a long time. Double OT, 5 players fouled out, & the game ended with one ref calling a foul & then all three just walking off the floor. I know it's only Conference USA, but still!

Yeah, that's why I always install my password manager and authenticator apps first. Doesn't make it painless, but it sure does help speed up the process.

Saw a thoughtful thread about AI, don't want to QT or argue. But. The biggest rage factor with LLMs is the people who, because genAI is transformative for coding, think it's transformative for everything else, because they devalue every other form of work and labor and knowledge.

I hate that this leaked right now. Issues should absolutely be raised internally, as they are doing, but this being public risks the league pitting players against players.

This is a time for everyone to be joined with the players to demand for a more equitable league.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I go over there every so often for news from very carefully curated lists that I have had for years, and if I stay there, it looks somewhat normal. Then I click on any one tweet and the replies are just chaos. 🤮

Fair enough! I've never gotten that invested in ChatGPT so that's probably why it's easier for me to switch back and forth.

Have you tried Gemini's Deep Research or Claude's Extended Thinking tools? I'm not a huge fan of OpenAI either, so I'd be interested to hear your opinions on how (or if) those other options compare to ChatGPT'S version.
